So it's been about three years since the world turned into a wasteland. It was the summer of 2016 when the world started to realize how valuable water was. People became greedy and selfish. People turned against each other rather than helping each other. I didn't really know how to cope with the situation. I was only 15 years old dreading to start Sophomore year. School wasn't my favorite place to be. I didn't fit in with the other students and I got teased for not knowing what I wanted to do for a living. Everyone had their life planned out and then there was me, Nick Dormire, the outcast. It's different now most, actually, probably all the people I knew are dead. It was just me, my mom, dad and little brother in a group, until I watched the light fizzle out of their eyes. I don't know how or why they died, but I like to think they passed from dehydration or just the world had better plans with their souls.
