As I watched the gravel fly, these next few seconds seemed to be eternity.

"Turn here"

This is where it all started.
Cruising, basic Friday night activity for any teen. Music, dirt roads, and friends.
"Turn here" says Sarah
Elie cranks the wheel, as the gravel grabs us we all let out a playful laugh  as we begin to spin. But those playful laughs quickly turned into ear piercing screams in a matter of milliseconds.
We quickly went from spinning to flying, smoke and gravel dust filled the air that we where be tossed around in.
We began to roll

I didn't pay much attention to the screams of my friends, the crunching noises of the roll bars, the popping of my neck as I was being thrown every which way. Instead I saw my little brothers face, his deep dark brown eyes, his year round tan skin I was always jealous of, & his gleaming white smile that light up each and every room he walks into. I saw my father, his one bald patch on the back of his head from a scar, his perfect teeth, the way his mouth goes sideways when he laughs super hard. I saw my best friend, her ombré hair and the one section of hair she missed every time she flat ironed her hair, her bluish grey eyes that she would always surround with black eye liner, her random laugh attacks. I thought I was seeing my life flash before my eyes....

Then it stopped. All of it. The motion, the sounds, the smells. "Am I dead" I thought to myself. But then my eyes opened. I saw smoke, the world seemed to be upside down as my head spun and I tried to take in what had just happened. When I heard Elie begin to scream I realized, we had just been in a wreck. On a dirt road miles out of town. Nobody could hear us no matter how hard we kicked and squirmed, or how loud we screamed and shouted for help.

We where trapped.
