That fake crying little turd, I'll give him something to cry about...

I pick up the bowl and slam it on the counter with force while a smile plays on my face, trying to keep as calm as I can. "I'm sorry, Tristin, we don't have any skittles," I apologize to him, then pick him up and set him on the ground. "I'm sorry, buddy." I reach into the bowl and grab out a heart shaped sucker. "Here's a sucker."

He knocks the sucker out of my hand, stomping his cute little foot and starts screaming, "I hate you! I'm telling my mommy!" As he screams, he slips and falls to the ground, and then looks up at me with a blank expression.

I can't help but laugh at the cute little face he's now making. I put my hands around my stomach and break out in laughter. "Oh, how cute... you okay?" I point down at the ground where he sits, looking at me with hate in his little eye.

We both get distracted when the doorbell rings.

I quickly reach for Tristin and pick him up off the ground. I walk him toward the door, as he digs his feet into the carpet. "Can't I stay a little longer?" he whines.

This kid must think I'm crazy enough to actually take him longer than I have to. Ha!

I smile to myself as we get closer to the door, closer to freedom and closer to peace and quiet.

Out of nowhere, Luna comes flying past us, her long brown hair slapping me in the damn face, as if she's in a hurry to get to the door. I get ready to reach for the handle when she reaches for it, slapping my hand away.

"I've got this," she says and then opens the door, putting on a huge smile. She brushes her hair behind her shoulder and then reaches for somebody's hand and pulls them inside. "Well hello there, cutie, I'm Luna."

As I look up at the door, I set my gaze on the most beautiful guy I have seen in my whole life. This is no exaggeration. The man is beautiful.

He smiles as he runs his fingers through his messy brown hair.

I try to turn away, but I get lost in his green eyes.

He reaches a hand up to the door, causing his muscle to flex. He's very fit and dressed confidently and sexy. If Tristin is the devil, then this has got to be an angel, coming to save my ass.

I have never met Tristin's father before, so this must be him. I had no idea that anyone could be that damn gorgeous.

I try to speak, but everything in my head just sounds too stupid, so I don't.

He looks back and forth between myself and Luna before resting his eyes on me. "Hi, I'm Kale," he introduces himself then points at his face. "I think you have a little something right here... and oh, right here." He smiles at me and pretends to clean his face off, before he reaches his hand out to shake mine.

Oh shit, great first impression. Tristin...

I go to reach for Kale's hand, but end up getting smacked by Tristin's little arms as he runs and jumps into Kale's arms. "Uncle Kale! I'm so glad that you came to pick me up." He throws his arms around Kale's neck and squeezes him. "I missed you, uncle Kale! Did you bring me some Skittles?"

The uncle, huh? That sounds much better than daddy.

Kale frowns at him and reaches into his pocket. "No, I'm sorry, buddy." Tristin looks up at him with his bottom lip quivering, to which Kale pulls his hand out of his pocket and shakes it in front of Tristin's face. "Of course I got you skittles, buddy!"

Tristin grabs the skittles out of Kale's hand and then points at me. "Kalise is mean. She didn't give me any skittles!"

Kale looks at me and shakes his head, smiling. "No skittles... I think that would be enough to even break my little heart. Who doesn't keep skittles around?" He turns his eyes away from Tristin's, making eye contact with me again.

I feel my face turn red as he winks.

I elbow Luna in the side, as she just stands there with her mouth open, looking at him.

Kale looks back and forth at us both and then clears his throat.

Awkward!

He smiles at me and then turns to head out the door. "I'll be watching Tristin this week while my sister, Adi, is out of town. I have to work at eight tomorrow morning. Would you mind if I drop him off around seven thirty?"

Oh my goodness, he's so sexy. Say something.

Luna elbows me in the side and smiles at Kale. "No, that won't be a problem at all."

Clearing my throat, I shake my head and then reach for the door as he walks out. "Yeah, that's fine with us, if that's fine with you, of course I..." I point at my face. "This is... um..."

Luna shuts the door, separating me from my stupid mouth. "What the hell is wrong with you? You're lucky I shut the door, saving you from further embarrassment." Luna looks at my face before she grabs a noodle off that was stuck to my forehead, and eats it, because apparently, she doesn't care what goes in her mouth. "Mmm, I'm starving. Is there any left?"

I point at the kitchen and reach to wipe my face off. "Yeah, in the fridge," I reply to her then follow her to the kitchen and grab a towel that is sitting next to the sink, running it under the faucet to get it damp.

Sighing, I take the towel and throw it over my face and let out a deep breath.

Breathe, just breathe...

Luna snatches the towel from my face and stands there, just smiling at me. "What?"

She laughs and then points at my face. "That guy was totally hot, and you had spaghetti on your forehead. It really doesn't get any better than that." She starts eating a plate of cold spaghetti while laughing at me.

"Well, I'm glad that you find my humiliation funny. You're a horrible friend."

Sometimes, I feel like reaching over and slapping the dumb out of her.

Closing my eyes in frustration, I snatch the towel back and throw it over my face again, wiping it off. "I'm going upstairs to take a nice, long bubble bath. Please, please, don't bother me; I feel like I'm going to freak out right now. Tristin can be a huge handful and you pretty much avoided us all day, so thanks. He may look like an angel, but he's far from it."

Luna jumps up on the counter while throwing her plate in the sink. "Yeah well, he has a super-hot uncle though. Maybe he will ask you out. I saw him checking you out and eyeing you up."

I head up the stairs while looking back at her. "I don't date any of the kids' parents. Never have, and never will. It's a rule. My rule."

I get almost all the way up the stairs when I hear Luna, "He's not a parent." She looks up at me from the bottom of the stairs. "I'll date him, if you don't. I'll corrupt that pretty boy so hard."

I choose to ignore this and just throw myself in the bath, in hopes that I won't accidently, on purpose, drown myself.

He's totally gorgeous, but he still counts to me as a parent of one of the kids that I watch. There's a chance he'll be around more to pick Tristin up and I can't chance getting involved in case things don't work out.

Plus, Luna already takes care of sleeping with all of them anyway.

I'm a virgin, and I plan on staying that way for a while...
