Summer Secrets

Chapter 1 - The Dare

 "I dare you to dress up as a chick for the summer."

Niall Horan spat out his toothpaste and looked up. His best mate, Louis Tomlinson, stood at his doorway of their shared bathroom. "What?"

"I dare you," the corners of older boy's mouth slowly lifted upward as he repeated his words, "to dress up as a chick for the day."

Niall chuckled and rinsed his mouth. Louis was always coming up with absurd dares for Irish boy to do, ever since they first met in primary school. Back then, Louis was the new kid in town and he had heard Niall was a huge eater and ate everything and anything, so one day he went up to the boy and dared him to eat a small box of crayons. They'd been inseparable ever since.

"What do I get?" Niall walked back into his room, pulling off his pajamas, leaving on only his boxers. Louis grinned widely, surprised. He hadn't expected Niall to consider it so quickly. But then again, it was Niall. He loved doing crazy things.

"Niall James Horan," Louis said, his arms up for the grand effect, "for completing this dare, El and I will set you up with Miranda."

"No way. Miranda? Like Miranda Cosgrove?" Niall's cheeks went pink as he said her name. Miranda Cosgrove was a friend of Louis' girlfriend from university, and although Niall never actually met her, he knew he liked her from the stories El had told them.

"Yeah," Louis nodded.

Niall rubbed his head in thought for a moment. A whole summer as a girl...for a girl? It even sounded absurd in his head. But at the same time, he was curious to see it happen. He looked up at Louis slyly.

"Throw in some Nando's for a semester and I'll do it."

Louis laughed. Of course.

"Done."

Niall grinned, got up and walked over to Louis and the two mates shook hands. "Now what?"

"Now, we start," Louis cackled and walked over to doorway to the hall. "Hey El! He said yes!"

Niall could hear footsteps coming up the stairs, and soon Eleanor Calder's face popped in. "Did you really?!"

The Irish boy blushed and nodded slowly. Was it a bad idea?

Eleanor clapped her hands together and looked up at her boyfriend. "I told you! Louis thought it would take at least a day!" She explained to a bemused Niall. Louis rolled his eyes and looked over at his best friend. 

"Let's get started, shall we?"
