"So you are planning na iwanan si Alyssa sa ere?"

"Yes. We had a deal already and malinaw na naman po sa kanya ang lahat. Maayos po kaming nag-usap."

"You made a deal with him Alyssa?"

"No po. He's just the one inshishtng everything Bossh. Nagulat na lang ako all of a shudden ayaw na nya. Wala man lang shinabing rashon Bossh. And that'sh the reashon why I'm not performing well during our lasht two gamesh. I'm dishtracted shince I kept on thinking what I did for him to get mad at me"

Nagulat ako when I heard Alyssa statement. Magno comment sya o magsalita man sya parehong walang kwenta.

"Boss that's not true" depensa ko while starting to explain about our real deal.

"Alyssa please leave us alone first. We'll talk to you later"

And with that naiwan kaming dalawa ni Boss sa office nya.

"What's wrong with you Kiefer?"

"Boss stop asking what is wrong. Start asking what is right? Kelan pa naging tama ang lokohin ang sarili na masaya ka kahit ang totoo you are dying inside because you can't have the girl you truely love? Yung feeling na kahit may chance ka, hindi mo magawa dahil may mga tao sa paligid mo na pinipigilan kang maging masaya? Boss nagmahal ka rin for sure. Why is it so hard for you to understand my situation?"

"Yes I did. Pero kung nagpadala ako sa pagmamahal na yan baka wala tayong dalawa ngayon dito Kiefer. Watch these videos and tell me if it will affect your decision"

He let me watch video clips of Mika and Jeron together, from Mika's dorm to Razon, to a cafeteria, to a mall. I don't know how they are able to get these videos but anything is possible with their connections.

Nakita ko kung paano tignan ni Mika si Jeron, she used to look at me that way. I know they are not yet a couple but seeing them this happy made me feel that in the near future they will be.

They look so happy and the realization of that should be me is hitting me right now.

"What have you realized Kiefer after watching those videos?"

"Boss given the chane kaya ko naman syang bawiin kay Jeron anytime. So please there's no point in convincing me to go back to Alyssa and force me to continue fooling everyone that I like her."

"Even if it means saying goodbye to your dreams? Kiefer may I just remind you, you have a 3 x 3 tournament, a Gilas stint this year and a PBA dream. Now tell me, are you really willing to give up everything? You have a great future served in a silver platter in front of you and the only thing you need to do is grab them. There are so many talented basketball players that are dying to be in your shoes right now. Tapos sasayangin mo lang lahat ng meron ka because you are what, you are in love? Isn't it stupid?"

"Pero Boss I don't understand why you need to get Alyssa involved with my contract. Ang tagal na nating magkasama, ever since I joined the Ateneo team wala naman akong hindi sinunod sa gusto nyo. All I wanted is the freedom to choose the girl that I love and be with her while achieving all my dreams. Is it too much to give to someone na ginagawa naman ang lahat ng gusto nyo? Just this one Boss please"

"Well I guess time flies so fast. Kung dati sa basketball ka lang in love ngayon sa babae na. And you are going to choose your great love over your first love? Is that what you really want to do Kiefer?"

"Boss you don't understand. Hindi mo pa naexperience magmahal ng sobra kaya never mo ko maiintindihan."

"Do you think love can give you this life you have right now? If yes then go home now. tell your Papa to say goodbye to his TNT job right now, tell Thirdy to stop going to school from now on, tell your business partners that you are no longer connected to them. Say goodbye to everything that you have Kiefer"

"Do you really want me to choose between the life that I'm living right now and the life I wanted to live in the future?"

"Yes you know what Kiefer Your dreams are right in front of you. Just a one step forward and you'll have them all. While having Mika? it will take a lot of time, courage and effort to have her back. Masyadong malayo ang lalakarin mo pabalik makuha lang sya ulit. The sadder part is you will slowly lose everything you have while trying to win her back and the saddest part? There's no guarantee that she'll leave Jeron just to have you again. Now tell me what will you choose?"

"This is so unfair Boss"

"Well Kiefer business is business. You need me more than I need you. If I were you just say yes to everything I want while you and your family is under my control. If not, better make sure that you have enough savings in your bank account to compensate the needs of you and your family. As the saying goes, strike while the iron is hot. This contract won't be forever, malalaos at malalaos ka at si Alyssa pero habang sikat pa kayong dalawa and I'm still getting a lot, you don't have any choice but to say yes to whatever I'm going to say. Like what they say,  Some people will only "love you'' as much as they can use you. Their commitment ends when the benefit stops."

Napayuko ako while listening to my Boss, trying to hide all my disappointments. I'm helpless and I know that there's no easy way to escape from this bullshit. What's the use of talking to him kung sarado naman yung pareho niyang tenga to listen.

"I'm going to send you abroad by the end of March to train hoping that it will help you forget Mika and to develop your basketball skills too. You are lucky to be given a chance to train abroad, another opportunity you are going to miss kung ipagpapatuloy mo yang kalokohan mo. Use the space and time abroad to reevaluate your priorities. This will be the last time I'll talk to you about this. Don't you dare challenge me again Kiefer unless gusto mo talagang malaman kung ano ang kaya kong gawin."

"I guess talking to you tonight Boss is non-sense"

"Well having that deal with Alyssa is non-sense in the first place. Don't you dare affect Alyssa's game and put the Lady Eagles chance to the finals in danger again. You can go now. Go to Alyssa and fix your mess"

Disappointed akong lumabas ng office ni Boss at sinalubong ako agad ni Alyssa while giving me a smirk.

I grab her by the waist and kiss her in the lips forcefully.

"Kief pleashe shtop" reklamo nya at hindi ko sya pinakinggan.

This kiss instead of love is full of hatred.

"Now you are asking me to stop when you can't even do that for me? Ganyan ka ba kaunfair Alyssa? Tangina! You know what wag sana dumating yung time na magmamahal ka ng iba other than me. Coz when that time comes na hingiin mo sakin yung freedom tulad ng hinihingi ko ngayon hindi ko rin ibibigay sa'yo like what you did today!"

"Don't worry Kiefer that will never happen. I won't love someone unless it's you"

"Well I will never love you back, ever"
