"What you up in here doing?" Jaivion stood in the doorway admiring his daughter as she lay in the bed pretending to be sleep.

"Hey Daddy." Jaz ran up and gave her father a big hug. He picked her and kissed her forehead. He walked over and sat on the bed with her on his lap. Jaivion had been out working all day and finally made it home, around her bedtime.

"You know I love you, right?" He asked her.

"Yea I know. I love you too." Jaz was such a daddy's girl. She was his princess and no one could touch her.

"You wanna take a ride with me? We gotta sneak passed your momma though."

"Okay." She hopped up searching for her clothes and shoes. If there was one thing she knew it was her father hated seeing women in the night clothes out in public.

They had almost made out of the door before they were caught dead in their tracks. "Where do y'all think y'all going?" Nicole asked them as they stood there as if they were frozen. "You are supposed to be in bed you have school tomorrow young lady." Nicole told Jaz. "And you just got home I know you don't think you fina leave again."

It was eleven o'clock at night so of course Nicole was mad that her husband had just got home and was trying to leave again. She understood in his line of work it required to be out all hours of the night. But when he called earlier and told her he was coming home sooner she was all set. She had put Jaz in the bed, and took a shower and got real sexy for her man. It had been a while since they had any alone time and tonight was the night. Or so she thought. Jaivion had come inside kissed her and was leaving again.

Nicole felt like he undermined her authority by going in the room waking Jaz up. Nicole and Jaz had spent the past hour going back and forth about Jaz going to bed. Jaz argued that her father said she could stay up until he got home. Nicole wasn't going for that though. She already made up her mind and with that said Jaz pouted as she went off to bed.

"We just fina go around the block. We coming right back." Jaivion told Nicole. She knew there was no need to put up an argument because she was going to be the one to lose. That's how it always went. When it came to Jaz there was nothing she could say to change Jaivion's mind. Jaz and Jaivion had a bond that was untouchable.

Nicole loved that he was such a good father, very dedicated, he could've been a deadbeat father that never did anything for his kids. But it's just whenever Nicole wanted to be with him alone she never got it. Like the time when Nicole came up with the idea for her and Jaivion to have a date night. They could go to the Oceanaire for dinner and go back home for a romantic evening. Jaz could spend the night at someone house. But Jay wasn't going for that at all. He didn't like the idea of Jaz staying with other people so instead of the romantic evening it turned out to be a family evening.

Jay and Jaz rode down the streets of the hood bobbing their heads to the music that blared through the speakers. He knew he shouldn't have had Jaz out this late, since she had school the next morning, but this was the time when the streets was live. There were people everywhere. At any time of day, there were people out walking and socializing. At night the streets were something different. So many people you would swear that people were nocturnal instead of possums. This was something he had to show his baby girl. Jay believed there was no better way of teaching than seeing and doing. Someone could talk all day long telling someone else the rights and wrong of the world and the person can walk away and not gain anything from it. But showing is the complete opposite. After all that is the way learned how to do things. And that's how he taught his daughter. Jaz loved going on these rides with her Daddy. This was their time to have their father daughter talks. Her father would drive around town pointing out people to her.
