"No, stop, please no more!" I cried as he send yet another blow to my face. This was now an everyday routine. I would come home from my late shift at the cafe, my boyfriend Darryl would be drunk, accuse me of cheating (which I wasn't doing) and start hitting me. I would always fight the urge to leave because he said that he loved me and as much as I wanted to believe that, I knew it wasn't true. There was only one problem, I loved him....

Hi, my name is Tierra Anderson and I am 22 years old. I work at The Late Night Café to help pay for my college tuition. I'm studying to be the greatest lawyer of all time, but I have other plans also. I live with my now abusive boyfriend Darryl. He wasn't always like this, he used to be the sweetest guy and he really did love me back then. It has been two and a half years since I saw the loving and caring side of him. One night I came home from work and went upstairs to our bedroom to find him curled up in a ball with tears flooding out of his eyes. He looked at me and started crying harder. "What's the matter?" I asked him. "M-my b-b-brother" he managed to get out. "What's wrong, did something happen to him?" I asked. "H-he's d-d-d-dead!" he cried. "T-t-they s-s-shot h-h-him" he told me. "It's okay baby, sometimes God calls people home for a reason, maybe it was for the best because now he doesn't have to suffer" I said trying to comfort him. Apparently that pissed him off because he grabbed me by my neck and slammed me into the wall. "Did I ask you for your opinion," he shouted in my face. I could smell the liquor in his scorching hot breath. "Have you been drinking?" I managed to ask in the midst of my fear. "Don't worry 'bout me you stupid b****" he yelled and with that he left the room. I heard the front door slam and immediately began crying, "How could he do this to me?" I wondered. That had happened about two years ago. Ever since then he hasn't been the same.
