Oh gosh I'm so sorry you've had to wait for this... but alas, a little bit more drama unfolds. With the Farros... again. How original. But as always, enjoy, and I thank you so much for getting me so close to 20k!!
Taylor’s P.O.V.
At 9am the next morning, the three of us were raring to go and tear down the scandal against us. Obviously Jeremy had exceeded Hayley’s food limit last night but she either didn’t care or had completely forgotten.
“Okay, I’m driving. I feel pumped.” Hayley was practically oscillating with her excitement and eagerness to get going. “Jerm! C’mon, we need to go!”
Jeremy came sauntering out of the kitchen, the pockets of his jackets jutting out; they were packed full of snacks, presumably for him alone. As soon as he reached us, Hayley darted out of her front door and unlocked her car.
“Easy, tiger.” I grinned at Jerm as I climbed into the passenger seat and Jerm got in to lounge on the back seats. Hayley fumbled lots in her haste to shove the keys into the ignition. I took them from her and started the car myself. She scowled but playfully, and pulled out of her driveway and onto the road. Hayley drove fast and this perturbed me, because usually she was a calm, collected driver. But right now she was cursing at other drivers, tapping the steering wheel impatiently, and her brows were knotted in frustration. Jeremy noticed this not, and was presently snoring peacefully.
“Hayley...” I said carefully.
“Mm?”
“This might not be sorted with a couple of words, you know.”
She turned to me, confused.
“Why not?”
“Because Josh is elusive, and this magazine may be very much favoured to him, despite the fact that we’re a pretty influential band.” I hated saying that. It sounded cocky. But I continued, “The thing is, what if they don’t want to publish our opinion?”
Hayley shrugged, and looked worried rather than frustrated now.
“We’ll find a way.” She declared obstinately.
I nodded and left her to it. Soon enough we arrived at the shabby-looking office block, and Hayley spent a couple of agonising minutes trying to find a decent spot to park in. I watched her nervously until she at last pulled up almost a block away from the damned place. We had to walk on the sidewalk full of people bustling around on their way to work. Obstacle upon obstacle seemed to be piling upon us already.
The most irritating obstacle came at the front desk of the floor where RAWKSOME! was based, and we were denied entry to the rest of the floor.
“You need an appointment. That should take a few days to come through...” the fellow at the desk said dully, not looking at us.
“Hey, buddy, we really need to see whoever runs this. It’s urgent.” Hayley demanded, fierceness radiating from her small form. I held back a smile at her feistiness.
“What’s your enquiry?” he sighed.
“We had an insulting article published about us, interviewing a Mister Josh Farro.”
The man’s eyes widened.
“You’re Paramore?!” he gasped. “Goodness me, I’m terribly sorry. Come right through, you three.”
“Finally.” Jeremy muttered under his breath and I shared an exasperated look with him.
What we did not expect when we entered the main office, was the Farro brothers sitting contentedly with the head of the magazine. Or perhaps it was only Josh who was contented. All that I could think of was Hayley’s anger, and the trouble that this run-in would cause for us.
