Author's note: sorry if this is getting long-winded. This book has at most 2 chapters left, there will be another book after it. Thanks for reading!
*Sunday- noon*
"No, I guess it was innocent. I had too much juice, I was too hard on Davey anyway." I tried to convince Marilyn, my best friend, that Kylan didn't do anything with Davey. I was trying to convince myself, too. We left the subject to talk about Kat's protest. "I don't know, it's about conformity or something. Marilyn? I think she's a lesbian. It's not a bad thing, but I think she's afraid to tell our parents." I laughed, "Yeah, I would be scared, too! Okay, bye!" I hung up and texted Davey for the first time since Friday night.
'Hey babe. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have assumed. I still love you, and I know you'd never leave me. Come over?' I sent it smiling, confident that he would be glad to be back with her. I had already gotten other offers for dates, but honestly I only wanted Davey. Then I received a text from him.
'Ya, about that... I'm at the beach house with Kylan. We talked, and I decided. I'm breaking up with you, sorry. -D' WHAT? Our family has another one-bedroom beach house for weekend getaways, and I guess the two lovebirds needed time alone. I screamed into my pillow and threw my phone against the framed picture of Davey and I on our first dinner date. The glass shattered and the frame fell. Just like our relationship, I thought, and my heart.
Kylan's POV:
I didn't know what he sent Kierstan, but I knew we were together now and I couldn't be happier. Guilt? Guilt was quickly replaced with the fact that Davey was just another high school fling of Kierstan's and he is more my type, anyway. He kissed me slowly on the lips and I smiled.
*Thursday- 3:56pm*
The whole family was at the protest, and Kat was setting up quickly. I knew about her secret love with Bella, and I wondered if Bella would be there. I sent her a text to meet me, and she replied with a curt "fine". The rant started, and Bella arrived.
Kat's POV:
"AND THAT IS WHY, MY GOOD NEIGHBORS, I LOVE BELLA BACHELOR. Everyone should feel accepted. Bella makes me feel whole, and I couldn't imagine life without her. Thank you." I put away my megaphone and stepped off the soap box. Bella kissed me and I embraced her publicly, not caring about the 25+ people staring in awe, including my parents. I assumed my sisters knew, though. Bella and I said goodbye and everyone went home.
"We'll go out to dinner tonight, everyone wash up and get changed." My mom stated, pulling into the driveway. Kylan mentioned to Kierstan that she and Davey were done. Kierstan simply nodded and walked into the house. Upstairs, Kierstan, Kylan, and I all smiled at each other. Then, suddenly, I gasped. It was the last breath I would ever take.
