31 December 1308. Edward II instructs the sheriff of Wiltshire to inform him what debts were owed to the Templars at Christmas 1307

Dorse (back of writ)

The sheriff replies that he has only found Roger Smith of Chiriton who owes anything: he owed William de Sautre, commander of Sandford, 60 shillings for grain he bought from him. Roger has already paid the debt to Andrew of Grimstead, previous sheriff of Wiltshire.
