3:17 am... And I'm awake... Splendid! All I really wanted was to have ONE normal night of sleep, but nah, my brain decides that I should wake up before the sun does. But on the bright side, I get to see it rise. The beautiful yellows, oranges, reds, and pinks. I love the design it makes across the sky, it's a nice picture to paint. Wait... Oh right, haha, what an idiot I am, my name's Andrew Mertins, I'm... 13 years old.... And.... That's really it. There is nothing special about me. I live in a small, one story house, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, with my mom, dad, and twin sisters Asosa and Hyori. I don't have many friends, but I think that's alright... It's... Alright.
First day of school, yay... I get to be the awkward kid again. I should just focus on the positive, "There will be new kids here this year, Drew, you can make new friends.... Hopefully." I told myself under my breath. A knock came upon my door, I turned just in time to get a Nerf dart to the face.
"ASOSA!" I screamed and ran out of my room, after the girl. She giggled as she slid around the corner and promptly tripped me. I fell face first, and did the worlds most perfect scorpion.
Asosa laughed and laughed, "Hahaha! You idiot!" She pointed at me.
"You're the one who tripped me." I replied as I peeled myself off the wood floor. Hyori walked next to her. Being identical twins, not much to say, both have brown hair, purple/blue eyes, tan skin tone, both had a bow in their hair, same side and braided in pigtails at the front. Greatest thing is, they dressed EXACTLY alike. The only reason I can tell them apart is by their voices, to most it's completely the same, but to me, Hyori's voice is sort of, smaller, more high pitched than Asosa's. Asosa's is more, soft toned... I guess, still giggly and cute like a 6 year olds voice should be, but... You get what I mean, right? Never mind.
"Stupid." Hyori said, in the most casual way possible. I gave her a look and she took a small step back.
"Andrew!" My father yelled from the kitchen. I turned my head and before I could answer, not even a second later, "Andrew! Get your ass over here!" He yelled I hurried over.
"Y-yeah?"
He looked at me like I was a four headed snake. "What the hell is this?" He gestured to an empty milk carton. I stared at him in confusion,
"Uh.... It's... An.. Empty milk carton?" I strangely questioned my answer.
"Well!" He said suddenly, "Why the HELL is it in the fridge!?" I stared at him blankly, clearly remembering that he put it back in the fridge. Then suddenly I remembered, school, I have school! How much time do I have left? Am I late? Apparently my dad was talking to me that whole time. I looked back up at him, he had his hand wound back. Everything slowed down, his hand came down. My eyes widened and I moved out of the way, missing his hand. Everything went back to normal speed, Dad had fallen from the force of his hand going down, and I stood there like an idiot for a few seconds. He started to get up, giving me the death stare, my feet moved for me and I ran towards my sisters. I grabbed my backpack, thankfully, they already had theirs on, and shoved them towards the front door.
"You're dead!" My dad screamed at me, I just kept going, I flew the door open and began to run, pulling my sisters along behind me. I looked at Asosa, she looks ready to burst into tears... I thought to myself, She's only 6... She shouldn't have to deal with this kind of shit... I looked at Hyori, she had a perfectly straight face on, not showing any emotion. I sighed quietly, and looked back, nothing, he wasn't following us thankfully. As I slowed my pace, the twins followed.
"Asosa, you got your lucky charm?" She looked at me then reached into her pocket, pulling out a necklace with an amethyst heart for a charm, I smiled, then looked at Hyori. "Hey..." I kept my gaze at her.
"Hi..." She said quietly.
"Got your charm?" I asked. She nodded and put her hand on the chain of the necklace around her neck. I looked back and fourth at them both. "Guys..." They looked at me, "We're ok..... Everything is ok, I won't let him lay a finger on you, even if it kills me. And that... I promise to."
