1 month along
HEATHER'S POV
It's been two weeks since Lydia started walking. Now, she is walking everywhere. We had to re-babyproof the house. We had to cover things like, the corners of tables and we had to put covers over the outlets. But, I'm not complaining, especially not today.
I felt a hand hover over my face, gently moving a strand of hair out of my face. Soon after, I felt a soft kiss on my forehead.
"Hey." Jack whispered.
I opened my eyes to his own hazel ones staring back at me.
"Hey. Merry Christmas."
He wrapped his arms around my waist and I buried my face into the crook of his neck and sighed.
"I wish we could stay like this all day." He said after awhile.
"Me too. But your son or daughter is sitting on my bladder, so I need to pee."
I hoisted myself out of bed and towards the bathroom. Once I was finished, I walked back into the bedroom to find Jack sitting up.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I think there's someone at the door."
I took our robes off of the door and handed Jack his. I put mine on and made my way to the front door.
I opened the front door to reveal Kelly and Ashley.
"Well, don't you two look snazzy." Ashley said referring to the fact that Jack and I were still in our robes with our hair un-brushed.
Kelly and Ashley brushed past us carrying packages.
"Well, we could've looked a little more decent if you had given us more than a two second notice."
"Sorry Heather. We really wanted to start the festivities earlier this year." Kelly said.
"That's sweet and all, but Jack and I still need to get ready. Plus, Lydia isn't even up yet and--" As soon as I said that, Lydia's cries came through the monitor.
"I'll get her." Jack said as he made his way back down the hall.
"So..." Ashley said placing her hands on my stomach. "How's the little one doing?"
"He or she is doing well. The morning sickness is a pain but I'm loving every second of it." I said smiling.
We talked for awhile longer before, Jack came back down the hall with Lydia all cleaned and dressed.
"I went ahead and got her cleaned up for our surprise guests."
Jack handed Lydia off to Ashley.
"Hi Lydia, remember me?"
"Mhm." Lydia replied picking some of the leftover snow off of Ashley's coat.
"What's her name Dia?" Jack encouraged.
"Ashie."
Kelly snorted.
"Hey!" Ashley said. "I wonder what she calls you."
Kelly took Lydia from Ashley.
"Can you say my name Lydia?"
"Kewy."
Ashley laughed as well.
