you know that feeling you get when you don't know anyone around you? that anxiety you get? that's what tay was feeling at this very moment. she sat herself at the back of the class, thinking she would have gone unnoticed by the people around her. of course, that was a bad idea on her part; the people that had sat in the back as well were feeling each other up. tay regretted her decision, and was hoping that those seats were not counted as permanent.

the anxiety was going onto a raging headache, with all these stoners and sex addicts floating about her. the front of the class seemed so far away, but it was only a few feet. she watched helplessly as the people who looked pretty fucking normal sat themselves closer to the front. they, as expected, were not shouting at or groping one another. except for the two sitting right in front of the teacher's desk.

they were loud enough for the whole class to hear. no one paid attention to them, though. besides tay. the teacher had left just moments before to escort an obviously-stoned-stoner, and the class had basically risen from the dead. the second the teacher was out the door, everyone jumped to start a conversation.

without a second wasted, tay gathered her things and rushed to an empty seat in the front of the class. she sat herself behind two of the two obnoxious boys, seeing that it was the only empty one, and sighed in relief. she could only imagine what weird voodoo shit could have corrupted her if she would have sat in the back any longer.

with the new seating, tay could relax. at least, that's what she thought. the aforementioned boys had turned around the second she sat down behind them. a glance at one another, and then they stared at tay. with huge, creepy grins. tay awkwardly waved before picking up her pencil and pretending to be doing something productive.

"you're the new girl." this dude, straight up, looked like a skunk. with that thought in mind, tay paused. like, yeah dude, no shit she's the new girl. how could he tell? was it the obviously scared aura? or maybe it was the lack of friends? whatever it was, this guy knew. and it was creeping tay out.

"um, yeah," she mumbled, putting her pencil down. when she looked up, she had two brown eyes staring right back.

"where the druggies becoming too much to handle?" the other asked. his faded purple hair was tousled about his face, making him look like a dehydrated blueberry. he ran a hand through it, letting it sit more chaotically than before.

"you could say," she said. "i think i saw some panties." she considered adding 'nothing i'm not used to,' but quickly refrained. she had no idea who these guys were, nor what their reactions of her sexuality would be. she cleared throat and sat back in her seat.

"well, for starters, i'm alex," purple dude spoke. his hand shot out, waiting for tay to shake it. she did, and looked at skunk dude.

he blinked, "i'm jack."

"tay."

"tay," alex tested. he smirked, turning his chair around to fully face tay. "it would be a pleasure if you sat with us at lunch."

"only if you want to," jack quickly added. "i mean, no one really sits with us because-" alex shot him a glare, to which he completely stop. his face turned bright red. "b-but yeah. heh, only if you want to." he offered a smile and turned to face forward.

"what'll it be?" alex rested his elbow on tay's desk, letting his cheek rest on his fist. he raised his eyebrows expectantly.

"sure, why the hell not?" tay shrugged.

"great!" and with that, alex turned around. the teacher hadn't even come back yet, but the class soon found themselves walking back to their seats. the chatter had not gone down though, seeing as a group in the back was still laughing loudly. if the teacher didn't get here sooner, tay might have to bring it upon herself to get up and shut the fucking class up.
