Black. That was it. Black.
Nothing else was there. Just black.
I didn't know where I was, or how I had gotten there. All I did know was that I wasn't safe. I could feel someone staring at me. I could feel their eyes on my back, wanting me to turn around so that it could pounce on me and devour my body. There was nothing I could do except for keep myself from facing whatever it was that was staring at me.
There was crying in the distance. It didn't sound like a grown person, it sounded like a little kid. Almost like a little girl. But I knew there was nobody with me. There was something with me.
I tried putting my arms out to feel for any walls but with no avail. Nothing was in the vicinity of my arms reach, so I could just be walking into my impending doom.
I couldn't take it anymore. I let out a scream, hearing it echo off of things. There was no light, so I couldn't possibly do anything. It seemed like anything I did would either get me killed or I would end up dying without knowing where I was. Both ways ended in death. I didn't want that to happen.
There was a clicking sound in the distance. It sounded like fingernails on a glass table. It was loud, but there was no echo following it. How come my voice echoed but the clicks didn't?
I turned quickly to where the sound appeared to be coming from. There were a pair of glowing eyes coming from the darkness before me. I tried to let out a scream, but my vocal chords wouldn't work. I was frozen, my thoughts firing all at once.
I began to turn around and start running, but my legs wouldn't move. They were frozen just like everything else. All I could do was turn my head to see what was going on in any direction. But, what was that going to do for me in a situation like this?
I could hear the nails clicking on the surface and I knew whatever it was would be upon me in any minute.
And, as if I hadn't been frozen in place for the past minute, adrenaline shot through my veins and propelled me in any direction my legs would take me.
I could hear my heavy footsteps on the ground, but they weren't fast enough. The creature clicking behind me was coming closer, the clicks louder than anything around me.
I stopped running and tried to catch my breath. My lungs were on fire and I couldn't see shit. There were no possible walls or objects I could shelter myself behind, so I was shit out of luck from escaping from this creature.
Suddenly there was a light coming from behind me. I turned my whole body and saw the creature coming towards me with some inhuman speed. The glowing was coming closer and practically blinding me. The last thing I could feel were my knees hitting the solid ground.
