The realities of marriage

Based on very real experiences I have seen and experienced.

Scene 1

Newly married:

Husband: Sweetheart you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.

Wife smiles proudly.

After few years:

Wife: Honey, how do I look in my new dress?

Husband without even glancing at his wife: Very nice.

Wife irritated stomps out of the room.

Scene 2

Newly married:

Wife: Do you think we can afford this expensive jewellery?

Husband: this is nothing, if I can I will go and get the moon for you.

Wife's heart melts.

After few years:

Wife: I really want to buy that designer wear watch.

Husband: we can't right now. We have the bills to pay and then kid's school books expense coming up.

Wife sighs... there goes another desire to buy something new.

Scene 3

Newly married:

Husband holds wife's hand whenever they go out, whether to shopping, out for a walk, or just being together.

After few year:

Wife holds husband's hand when they are crossing the road.

Husband scrunches his eyebrows: What's the matter?

Wife shakes her head in annoyance.

Scene 4

Newly married:

Wife: You love me so much ... look at the many gifts. How can I ever thank you.

Husband beams happily.

After few years:

Wife strode into the living room where the husband is watching television. She places her hands on her hips: when was the last time you bought me a gift?

Husband without glancing at her way: Everything is yours. You can get anything you want.

Upset wife storms out of the room.

Scene 5:

Newly married:

Wife: I love you, darling.

Husband: I love you more.

After few years:

Wife: you don't even love me anymore.

Husband steps back in astonishment: how can you even say that after having two children?

Wife smacks her forehead.

Scene 6

Newly married:

Late at night around 1am husband comes back from work.

Husband: Sweetie, why were you awake so late for me? And you didn't even have dinner yet?

Wife: how can I eat without you? And I can't sleep without you.

After few years.

A sleepy wife opens the door at 1am for her husband.

Wife mumbles: the dinner is in the kitchen, heat it up. I am going back to bed.

Husband stares at his retreating wife's back.

Scene 7

Newly married:

Husband: Mashaa Allah I love the variety of dishes you cook for me every day.

Wife pinches his cheek lovingly: I love spoiling you dear.

After few years:

Husband: What's for dinner? I am really hungry.

Wife: Left overs.

Husband frowns.

Scene 8

Newly married:

Wife: I can't believe you planned a special romantic candle light dinner for our wedding anniversary.

Husband: Only for you sweetheart.

After few years:

Wife paces the living room crossed at husband being late when finally the house doorbell rings.

Wife: Where were you?

Husband sheepishly answers: Work.

Wife: You know what is today?

Husband: Monday?

Wife smacks her forehead: our anniversary.

Husband: Shit!!!
