Cold. Cold surrounded you. You realize something else: a sharp pain in you leg. It was as if you had been stabbed in the leg. You opened your eyes. Everything was still dark. We're you gonna die? You didn't know who you are and, for the worse or for the better, who you WERE. You tried to move. First testing your arms, then your legs. There was resistance. You winced at the pain in your leg. This was a feeling you were all too familiar with: it was broken. You try sitting up. Suddenly, you're surrounded by a blinding light. You squint, trying to ease your eyes into getting used to the newfound brightness. After a few moments, you look down to find something you hadn't expected: snow! There was a cold, white blanket that swept across as far as the eye could see. You look around at your surroundings. To your surprise, you were in a village. There seemed to be a tarp sign that said something, probably the town name, but you couldn't read it. It seemed blurry. So much for that. How long were you out? You scan the area once again. You see some human-like figures. In your attempt to get up, you let out a small shriek, gaining the attention of a few "people"; a lady who resembles a rabbit and a large man who resembles a brown bear. Wait! A rabbit? A bear? Where the hell WERE you?! Now in a slightly panicked state, you bolt, ignoring the broken leg. In your attempt to escape to someplace else, you ran directly into somebody. Your vision was still pretty blurry. The figure looked just like a human. This was great! You weren't the only human being down here! "Oh my god, I am so unbelievably sorry! My apologies sir!" You quickly said, trying to maintain your posture. The figure was dressed in a blue hoodie with a fleece lining. It turned its head at a forty degree angle, which was just enough for you to notice your mistake:
He wasn't human.
Startled, you froze. It glanced at you with its white, glowing pupils. It was a skeleton! Trying not to scream, you hold your breath. The monster took note of that and asked, "hey, what's the matter kid? Never seen a talkin' skeleton before?" He chuckled and turned completely around to face you. "The name's sans. Sans the skeleton, but you already kinda figured THAT part out for yourself." He grinned with a sly, lazy look in his eyes... Or eye sockets? He noticed the way you were standing. You had all your weigh on one leg while the other was barely touching the ground. "Hey, if you don't mind me askin', what's with your leg?", Sans questioned, pointing at your crippled left leg. "Nothing! It-it's fine!", You snap in response. All this newness, all this change. It left you feeling irritable. "Kid, listen. That ain't 'nothing'. You're hurt. Trust me, I've played this game before with other humans who fall down here." Sans said in response. Humans? Other humans?, you thought to yourself. Suddenly, you feel weightless. You look around, you had risen five feet off the ground. You look down at the skeleton. He looked up at you. His eyes were no longer white, but rather one was glowing an aqua marine. He seemed to be controlling your movements in the air. They were in sync with the motions of his right hand. "Kiddo, I'm sorry but you're hurt. The queen will kill me if she sees a hurt human down here!" Sans explained, then off you were to a small cabin.
