"Mum, I don't want to live in America anymore." I say quietly one morning when the three of us were enjoying our summer breakfast. "What? I thought you loved it here? What about Lacey?" Mum asks. I felt my stomach turn at the thought of the dream, the dream that felt so real. "Um. I don't know. I just really want to move to London." I shrug. She stares at me for awhile before a guilty look came across her face. "Evangeline-" I cut her off before she could finish. "I know I am adopted." I only hoped it was true, due to the fact I did dream about it. I saw Mum stare at her food and Elliot look up wide eyed. Since he is 16 he thinks he knows it all. "What?" Elliot asks. "I'm adopted. I think I have a sister in Britain." I explain, hesitantly. "How?" Mum snaps her head up. "I'm not sure. I dreamt about it....I guess." I say softly. "Eva, that's rubbish!" Elliot laughs. He looks at Mum's serious face and turns back to me. "That is rubbish, right?" He asks me. "I want to move." I state. I knew if she said no and my dream was true that it would be a cycle all over again, atleast now I can change my fate.
Atleast now I can change everyone's fate.
