This very day 2 years ago my Angel flew away
She grew some wings and was called for far far away
She would never of gone willingly
She put up such a fight
But the illness that she had, won, although she tried with all her might
I curse the thief who robbed my Angel of more time in this life
Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren were her whole entire life
This lady's name was Annie
She was my nanna you see
From the start of my life until her end
She was a second mother too me
She was always happy kind and free
Then this darkness came along
And knocked her off her feet
My strong willed trooper of a Nan
Lost more of herself each day
But by God the woman still knew
How to love no matter what had Been stripped away
Lifes never Been the same since my Angel spread her wings
If I could have her back for just a minute I'd sacrifice anything
Too just hear her voice feel her touch and for her too wipe my tears away
But alas that will never happen
She's resting now you see
She's with her parents and her man
Reunited for all eternity
I want you too know I love you
Miss you and ache terribly too
But Nan your out of pain now
And no more torment for you
You didn't deserve all that suffering
You were innocent and true
But from now on I'm going to celebrate the time I had with you
37 years I had you in my life
You were meant for me and I was meant for you
Well there's nothing left to say but sleep well my dear Nan
You will be forever in my heart and your face etched in my mind
Thankyou for being my Nan
Thanks for everything
I'll be forever grateful for the time you shared with me
All the little things you wouldn't think mattered but they did Too me
Until we meet again my love
My heart my soul my life
You keep smiling and wait for us and for now I'll say goodnight
