Jasper knew he couldn't know of him, her last kitten. He wriggled and mewed a bit against the force of the cool breeze. As she races down the rough cold asphalt road, the town was quiet. But the animals of the night were anything but quiet. Jasper jumped at the hoot of an owl. It made her fur crawl. She strained her ears to hear even the slightest creak. She turned down a road that led to the edge of the city. Without even a second to waste she wriggled herself into a hole in the metal fence. Her precious little kitten squeaked in annoyance due to her struggle. She set him down on the soft grass. Gave his head a little lick. "I'm sorry, but I have to continue cookie." She whispered to him. "We have to leave the city to get you somewhere safe." Cookie glares at his mother's icy eyes. Jasper stares at his green angry eyes. "That really hurt ya' know." Jasper ignores his whining and sat beside him. "Do you want to walk all the way to gypsy's?" Cookie shook his head in disagreement. "Then if i were you i'd keep my little trap shut." Jasper growls at him. "Where are we staying for tonight mama?" Cookie asks. "We're going to stay at my cousin's." Jasper says. She saw the barn in the distance. Jasper was guessing about a mile. Not a bad walk for tonight jasper thought. "Well we better get moving, it's not a bad walk, cookie." He groans in reply. Jasper grasps cookie by his scruff and carries him down the gravel road.
