Humans have proudly claimed earth as their planet, their home. But someone had to be there first and keep it habitable. Not to mention kill those dumb lizards that were killing everything they saw...
My name is Ms Nature. Or Mother Nature if that makes it easier.
After using my powers to help make way for the human race, I went to sleep for about. Seventy five billion years? I dunno, my sense of time isn't the same as humans.
Ten years ago I was woken up by a group of adventurers and different sorts of science people who were researching and exploring my island home in what the humans named the Atlantic Ocean. At first I wasn't sure what they were, some sort of monkey? They looked kinda like me but their skin was weird. Not green like mine. To show my thanks I gave them some magic for their troubles. I still remember the shocked looks on their faces when they were shooting balls of energy and transforming into human animal hybrids. I guess humans didn't inherit magic as well as I'd hoped but their bodies happily accepted it like a long lost organ. They were getting the taste of something they never expected and they loved me for it.
But it couldn't be a happy story the whole time. Soon after, I felt all the pain of what the humans had done to earth: mining, forest fires, pollution and the worst act of them all. Nuclear warfare that insured a part of earth would stay dead and toxic for hundreds or thousands of years. In my rage I took it out on all the humans that came to the island, some fought back, others fled. But the ones who fled didn't get very far. I used the ocean to drown most of them, but a few washed back on shore. The ones who fought back had no chance. But they knew that. The humans who fought against me had honed their magic until their bodies adapted everything to it. Making them the most powerful humans who had ever lived.
I killed two of them, merciful instant death but death nevertheless. Halfway through the fight they had exhausted all their magic and looked like they'd fall from a slight breeze. I had intended to crush them and move on. But they just kept fighting. Throwing themselves at me until their weapons broke. And then they would use their bare hands. I felt pity and pride for them, they were willing to fight until their end to buy the rest of humanity a second chance or at least time to prepare. I calmed down and apologised. They all then sighed in relief and fell to the ground. Not going to hide it, I laughed way too hard when they did.
Though I still haven't forgiven humanity ten years later. I was willing to give humanity a second chance with the power only I could bestow, magic.
Magic would be my awakening gift to every human..and living creature. It didn't go as I expected since humans turned into animal hybrids and some animals turned into monsters. It's the thought that counts right? Anyway. I felt like I really owed the people who survived my anger. So I gave each one an extremely powerful magic to own and master to teach others. The masters of the elements, the monarch of spirits, the queen of beasts and so many more. I think they named it 'The awakening event or something like that.
I'd tell you about what each one did but my interest is more focused on what's about to happen at this school that recently popped up..wait seven years doesn't count as recent? Well I guess it opened a while ago. But there's a boy who's caught my attention. The grandson of the spirit monarch Kenzo. Maybe I'll say hi. But I'll just watch for now, after all. His grandfather and I were pretty good friends.
