When Mr. Charles said he was going to answer my questions, I thought we were going to have a long, sit-down conversation, like a family would.
He gives me a drink that I think is water, but it isn't. He takes me to the car, and says we're going to go get ice cream. I'm so excited! I've never had ice cream before.
We drive for a long time, then I realized that we missed the ice cream shop. After a while, I see we are going in circles. I try not to say anything, not wanting to ruin the thought.
Would this be a memorable moment, where I kind of have a family? I couldn't take it anymore. I ask "Where are we really going?". "Somewhere, give me a few minutes," he responded. I didn't know whether to trust him or not. I already knew we weren't getting ice cream.
Suddenly it got really hot. My palms were sweating. I didn't know what was happening to me. Then, I did it. I threw up all over him, he gave me a weak smile.
I didn't know what he meant, and I didn't know what was happening. "What's going on???" I yell. "I want you to calm down, it'll be over in a few minutes," he said.
I was about to run out of the car. He was trying to hurt me, wasn't he? Although, he was right about it being over soon. Everything's began to slowly fade. Suddenly, it was pitch black.
I remember being on a bed, the rolling kind in the hospital. "Huh?" I manage to mutter. "Shhhhh, go back to sleep," I hear a soothing voice say. At that time, I didn't think it was Mr. Charles, but it was. He wasn't the evil man I thought he was.
I fall back asleep. Darkness is circling in. I don't know how long I'll be like this, but I hope it's over soon. After what seemed like 20 minutes, I woke up, and I definitely got answers.
