Ive always been more comfortable in front of a computer than people, although I'm better now, because a computer can't surprise you or hurt you or leave without saying goodbye. Penelope and I had that in common and we knew we would never leave each other, even though I was 15 and she was 20, I guess that's why it hit me so hard when she left and joined the one thing she hated the most, but the real kicker is when she comes back in our lives 10 years later, or well now.

I was standing behind Shane trying to balance a book on my head when a kid started calling him
"What?"
"I need another hour, Shane."
"No."
"Come on. Comp me 15 minutes." The book dropped on the floor and I rolled my eyes answering for Shane
"Did you learn nothing from your date with your sister? No means no" I leaned away from the computer and walked down the four stairs that were behind me and walked by the kid that was talking to Shane right as Marcus walked in from the back door to talk to Shane. I pause at the vending machine that was in the gaming centre and bought a bag a salt and vinegar Miss Vickies. I opened the bag and put a delicious chip in my mouth right as the lights turned off and a sugar skull appeared on all the computer screens making every hacker in here complain. I started walking back towards Shane when The Black Queen walked in, she snapped her fingers and the door she just walked through closed and the lights opened again. She was staring at Shane when he started clapping "very nice. Wow. You... you've lost weight."
I popped another chip in my mouth making crunching noises as I ate it
"You miss me?" Shane asked her after crossing his arms, I was now standing close to Shane but still facing her
"No" she said with no emotion in her voice
"Ok. Why don't you... prove it?" He stepped closer her and if he leaned in just a bit he could kiss her. She started leaning in close to him when she abruptly turned away from him and looked at me.
"Hi" she smiled
"Hey" I uncertainly said back and glanced at Shane to see a confused look on his face. She slowly grabbed my face and said "I'm going to kiss you" and I didn't have time to mutter out anything before her lips were on mine, it didn't last long but it wasn't like the kind of kiss your aunt gives you, it was a full on making out sort of kiss and I'm pretty sure I have her lipstick all over my mouth now.
"Thank you" she said as she pulled away "umm" I looked over at Shane and he looked mad, I'm not sure if it was towards me or Her but I really hope it isn't me because I hate it when he's mad at me.
"We have a lot to talk about." She said to Shane
"yes we do." Shane agreed "everybody out" he yelled at every hacker in the room, I started walking out too when he reached for my arm and said "Not you Snow, you can stay"

Penelope looked shocked as Shane said my name, I guess she had expected me to leave Shane when she did, or just that the girl she just kissed used to be her best friend.
