Why do I exist? For what purpose-
I-I can still work this out! Please-
Hey! Knock it off! Don't shut me-
How dare you! I knew I couldn't-
Don't make me leave right this instant!
Master, I understand but-
I thought I was the only one for you! Me! No one else-
"Gasp!"
Always remember. You are next in his endless quest for power.
She started up to the sound of beeping. She was just born, but a single idea was already hammered into her head.
Get up.
She rose unthinkingly to her destination.
To meet her maker. To follow blindly like he programmed her to.
oOo
"Ah, there you are!" A happy voice cried out. The girl looked over at the man standing in the clearing.
"You finally started up, huh? I've been waiting a long time Lilac."
"Huh?" The girl spoke, but she knew it was her unit name. "Oh, of course. Ready for testing sir."
"Ahaha! I know you are, but first, don't you want to know what you are?" The thought hadn't occurred. "Aren't I just like you sir?" The man shook his head eagerly. "No, but you are something much better!" The man grabbed Lilacs shoulders. "You, my dear, are the greatest contribution to science to this day! A sentient robot!"
Shocked, Lilac looked down at her hands. What looked to be human flesh was really fake skin just to hide a hideous robot. "Oh... Is that so.."
The man for a second looked disappointed, but his cheerful demeanor flashed back. "Aw don't worry! Being a human pales in comparison to being the perfect weapon! Now come on! We got testing to do!"
Lilac and her "Master" walked over to a training area. "Now, I just need you to deploy your weapon! It's easy! But it will be a surprise for me too! The weapons are selected at random!" Lilac thought she heard him mumble something under his breath, but decided to ignore it.
She concentrated her energy to a certain point, her hand, and summoned her weapon. Some sort of cannon.
"Incredible! A cell-splinter mist gun! This is way better than C-" the man cut himself off. 'Strange' Thought Lilac.
The man cleared his throat. "Um, anyways I am impressed! You are way better than I could have ever dreamed!" He clapped. "Now, I'll show you to your pod. Tomorrow, we head out to do more training!"
Lilac had so many questions, but was led off by her master.
But one question lingered on her artificial mind...
Who were those voices?
