I never thought I was the chosen one to end the revelution. I was born to a 19 year old couple in the icy forest of Pulitica. It was a cold winter night when I was born and it was snowing is what my mother used to tell me. My mother was a kind and good soul named Alina. But like most good souls she had a heavy wieght on her shoulders especially around when I was 13. My father was a nice man named David until he lost his job. He turned to the worst thing:alcohol. He became abusive with me and my mother blaming us for his problems. Some of my scars still haven't healed like the long burn on my back from him throwing a match at me for asking why we had no food like the other families. He screamed at me for meddling in his bisness and threw the match he lit for his pipe at me. It slide down my back and I screamed in pain. My father grabbed me by the hair and threw against the wall holding his arm against my neck blocking the air supply. He yelled at me for being a girl while I struggled to breathe with tears in my eyes. My mother tried telling him that's enough be he turned on her instead. He dropped his arm against my neck and walked toward my mother. She grabbed the knife on the counter to stop him and called me to her. I tried to crawl over but my father grabbed me and told my mother to drop the knife or he'll kill me I cried and called to her. She dropped the knife and he dropped me he grabbed the knife and tried stabbing my mother but he hit the door instead. My mother knew we would die if we stayed there so she backed up and ran with me out the door to the old rusty pickup we had. She put me into the back and got into the driver side riding off. We rode to my uncle Pete's. We stayed with him and my cousins Dolly and Parker who were both older than me. Dolly and I played house while Parker who was 17 at the time listened to my mother tell my uncle about what happened. He told us that him and Parker would watch the house for my father while we slept. Trying to help, Dolly gave my mother the spare room and let me sleep with her in the attic room. As I laid on the creaky bed next to my sleeping cousin I thought about how I could protect my mother if someone tries to hurt her again. I realized I need to learn to protect her and made up my mind right then and there. The next morning I went to Parker and asked him the question that started my path to becoming the savior. "Hey Adaline what's up?" He asked. "Teach me to fight."I told him. He just stared at me with his mouth hanging open. After two minutes I tapped his forehead. He came back to his senses "Sorry, you want me to what?" He replied still in shock. "I.. want ..you ..to ..teach .. me ..to ..fight" I said slowly. "Ya,ya I heard that part but... why?" Parker said and stared at me. "I want to learn how to protect my mother," I said as calmly as I could. Even so my voice quivered slightly."So you expect me to teach you. How do even know if I can fight or not?" He said questioning. I fidgeted "I've seen you fight with the other boys..."I said quietly. "Alright I'll teach you on one condition...""Yaay thanks so much Parker!" I cut him off and hugged him. "Can you let me finish?" He asked laughing. His voice became serious. "You have to keep this secret, your mom would have a heart attack if she found out."Roger that captain! "I said with a salute. And that is where my tale starts.
