[HARLEY]

Hi, I'm Harley, Harls, Harl; people call me whatever they want really. Anyway, I'm Harley, I'm 5"2 with some attitude, and I'm not just trying to quote a song. I genuinely have the biggest attitude out of anyone you'll ever meet. I have rich brown hair and blue eyes just like the fucking ocean. I live with both of my parents, no dramatic backstory of someone being a drunk ass or dying over here. My dad moves around a lot, so I've been moved around almost all my life and I don't tend to stay in one place for a long period of time. You could say I'm noncommittal or 'scared of commitment', which I guess you could say is kinda true. And just like every other cliché story, I've just moved to California, and my first day in school starts today.

I pressed play on my music, which coincidentally came up with my favourite song, 'Ghosts' by Halsey.

I danced as I did my makeup, leading to me taking way more time than I needed. I got dressed, putting on my black crop top, a white varsity jacket, some black ripper jeans and combat boots. I braided my hair into two braids and pulled on a baseball cap, before grabbing my backpack and walking to my new bus stop.

When I arrived, there were already a couple of people there. I pulled out my phone and pretended to text, so that I didn't look like a complete idiot in front of possible new classmates.

I let out a relieved sigh as the bus pulled up right in front of me. The doors made a weird hissing sound as the opened, and I stepped on without saying a word to the elderly bus driver who would insist on having a conversation with anyone who was unlucky enough to have to listen.

The bus was already packed, and I walked down the isle with many eyes staring at me, making me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I popped in a stick of gum and blew a bubble before I sat in the next free seat. I pushed my bag down onto the floor and looked to my left, rolling up my sleeves as I blew another bubble. I tried to come off as sassy, but at heart, I was scared of everything and very sensitive.

The girl, who was sitting with earphones in, looking out the window, sat up slightly and turned to me. She had previously had her knees on the seat in front and was sitting in a strikingly odd way. She pulled out a headphone; pushing some of her light brown hair out of her face.

"Hi" She said flatly, looking me up and down. "Are you the girl from Ohio?"

I nodded slowly, not breaking eye contact.

"Omg I didn't know you were coming today, the principal wont stop banging on about you joining and how we have to welcome you with kindness and respect but to be honest nobody gives a fuck and everyone's just gonna treat you like you don't exist anyway; unless of which you join my group where almost everyone talks about us and omg it's kinda scary sometimes because people know like, everything about you and that's kinda scary, ya feel?" She spoke as if the whole world was in fast forward, looking at me, waiting for an answer.

I smiled and nodded. "I'm Harley"

"Harley, like Harley Quinn? That crazy evil person from Batman?" She wondered aloud. "Sorry. I'm Brooklyn, I think that the principal paired you up with me for the first week so that you don't just like, drown in the toilets or something"

I laughed. "Well, I hope that won't happen"

She shrugged. "This school is a weird place"
