I felt something hit my face. "Get up, your gone in five minutes" Mrs. Garnil snarled. "Get that monster of a sister up as well." She added as she walked out the door. I made the bed and walked out of the closet that had been my room for the past two months.
I knocked on the door of my little sisters room. "Gemma, are you up?" I said softly as I opened the door. I gasped when I saw the room. All the things she was supposed to pack yesterday were spread out along the hardwood floor. Gemma was curled up in a ball, her red hair covering her face.
I sat down next to her. I pulled some hair out of her face, but she turned her head and mad it fall back into place. I sighed, standing up. I grabbed her pink back-pack and started to stuff the few thing she owned inside it. I picked up her doll, the one she never let go of, and looked over at her.
"Your five, you shouldn't be crying" I said as I extended my hand, focusing. A small amount of light appeared in my palm. I focused it as it spread and wrapped itself around Gemma. It lifted her into the air with a sudden jerk and she started giggling.
"Sapphire, put me down!" She giggled, throwing her hair behind her head. Her blue eyes still had some tears in them, but had a slight sign of happiness now. I set her down.
"Saph, why can't you just take us somewhere far away?" Gemma said, looking into my purple eyes. I sat down on her bed, flipping my annoying brown hair over my shoulder. "I'm trying, Gemma, I'm trying. I'm not strong enough though." I said with a frown. I stood back up. "Grab your stuff, it's time to leave." I said.
I walked out and down the hall. I looked back to see Gemma, holding her hands together, trying to make them light up. I smiled and walked back into my room to grab my bag. I walked out to Gemma waiting for me. "We'll be fine." I assured her. "Ok. Race you to the bottom." She said, taking off down the stairs. "No fair, you got a head start!" I shouted after her.
I jumped on the rail of the stairs and flew past Gemma. I also flew off the rail and into a vase. I lay on the ground, laughing, when I looked up to see Mrs. Garnil with a wooden spoon. Oh, well. One last beating couldn't hurt that much.
A/N I am rewriting the whole story. I didn't like it but there were some who did so I am not deleting it, just rewriting it.
