Hello to any of my followers or just anyone who stumbled across this. Please take note that this is negative and my be triggering to some. I will mention no names to respect the other person's identity. Now on to the actual story.

I had this friend that lives 4 doors down from me. They still live in that house to this day. I notice that every time I look at the house... my heart drops. They use to be my best friend and we did a lot of things together.

Like when we were younger we would play in the front lawn and play with stuffed animals until it became dark and I had to go home. But now the lawn just seems lifeless and not as huge as I remember it to be. Whenever it snowed, I would put on my winter gear and trot down to their house to build magnificent snow homes and act like I was in the wilderness. But now when I see the snow banks pile up, they just look like snow.

I don't know what they look like anymore. I don't know what school they go to. I don't even know if they wonder the same things about me. Sonder is controling what I do when I so much as glance and see that the lights are on in their house. I question if their parents are still the quirky, loveable people I remember. I ask if they still have their pets or if they died ages ago. Do they like the same music as me? When they pass my house, do they ask the same questions?

They were the person I could run to when I cried. Telling them about how my family was fighting. About my dreams and my passions. And them doing the same.

I'm light headed thinking about all of this. It would be funny if they read this and didn't know that it was me.

I'll never have the guts to walk up to their door and try to talk to them. I'm too prideful. And they probably forgot about me anyways. They should know that I remember when I got hurt at the library and we were freaking out but then their dad got me a band-aid. I still have the library card that I got that day. Or when I taught them how to cuss and their parents were pissed.

Well, it was great while it lasted. But now we are two separate people with two different lives. I hope someday I can finally see you again, old friend. Maybe the times will bring us together by chance. I hope you still recognise me. I hope you still remember me.
