Scream
They say,
It will make you feel relieved,
They say.
Wolves howl in the distance,
Dogs bark just outside the house
You scream in agony
of a broken heart.
And I watch you,
from a distance with distaste.
Cry,
Release your pain
They say.
Scream and hit,
It will make it easier
They say.
A cat whines outside the window,
You let it inside, ending his cries.
But the cat doesn;t move,
As you cry on your bed
Over words unsaid
And mistook actions.
I do whine,
About things that feel unfair
The same way the cat does.
I do bark,
When I feel treathened
The same way a dog does.
But I don't scream.
I can't scream my pain
And you get mad because I don't howl,
The same way a wolf does.
You get mad, and scream for me too
For I forgot how to howl,
Or I never learned.
