“Then??”
“The whole force of security and Intel division tracked the source of the signal. But talking how fast the signal rose up, that’s also how fast it vanished and during that moment the news of Nicolei went missing became noisy.”
“Wait, I thought Nicolei have been lost when I too was detained?”
“What I mean here Elly. The Nicolei case was just minor that time compared to what you did and compared to this foreign signal and when the signal went gone that’s the moment the Intel Division tried to establish a connection of the events.”
“So there must be some kind of connection between those signal-thing and Nicolei’s abduction or whatsoever?”
“Yeah. Intel Division is comprised by keen personnel when it comes in analysing information. They formulated that the becoming obvious of the signal is only a decoy, a trap that the institution have fallen into so the real plan of abducting our friend will go smoothly.”
“But why Nicolei? Is she that rich? Powerful?”
“Actually, all I know about her ability is Aurora magnifier but I cannot make sense of what is it about and what it can do.” He paused, “Elly, the Intel division would be summoning you one of these days.”
“Have they talked to you already?”
“Yes.” He replied while opening his book and he started reading again.
So I thought of not disturbing him anymore. I learned valuable information.
I continued finishing my exercises and before Jaray went to bed, he told me. “What I told you is not confidential but the fact that not everybody knows it means we have no right of telling this to the others.”
“But why did you inform me about this?”
“To shut your mouth. You kept on asking so I gave you information that would likely to shut you up.” Then he turned around.
“O-kay.”
I slept around half-passed one in the morning and I’m glad I’m done with everything I miss but my new-found talent or ability or just some sort of dreaming illness came again...
And it was worse...
I saw Nicolei. She was unconscious and chained on stonewall like a fatal elemental. Somebody was standing in front of her. He was cloaked so do I again.
I wanted to shout and run to her, pull the chains out from her arms. I want to free her but it seems like vision is only I had. It’s like I myself is also chained. Seeing your friend suffering and you’re not a big help can really tear your heart apart.
Her dress was quite torn and she’s quite dirty. Her hair is tangled looking like she put up a great combat with someone and I knew for sure, that someone is this person in front of me.
“I think you’ve done me a great favour.” An adult male voice said and I’m sure it was coming from the cloaked figure in front of Nicolei.
“So it was you.” I replied, my-self replied.
“Yes...” he replied without turning back so my-self seem to be talking to his back.
“But why?”
“To achieve our goals, my ability is not enough. I need more power.”
“They don’t know about this, right?”
“What for? I’m sure they don’t know also about you?”
The feeling when I heard the words seems like real. I felt nervous, shocked, astonished, as if I was exactly the one being told.
