Staring at the now empty room that once was my bedroom I sigh before picking up the last box. I walk outside and feel the cool San Francisco air kiss my face. Placing the box in the back of the mini van I take one last look at the only home I've even known. "Cheer up Bell," I feel my dad's thick arm wrap around my neck as he pulls me closer to his chest. My mother stands on the opposite side of me. We stand for a moment gazing upon the faded old pink house in front of us.

I don't really want to leave. I don't really want to leave all my rude selfish friends. I don't really want to leave this cruddy over priced house. I don't really want to leave the blood thirsty park down the street. I don't really want to leave. Oh who am I kidding this will be great! Moving out of this dump might have been the best decision my parents ever made!

We are about to drive off leaving San Francisco behind us and move in with my grandma and grandpa in San Jose. I'll also get to go to a new school. It's right down the street from the house I'm going to be living in so that means I'll be able to walk to school. And I'm going to be getting my own locker! But the best part about all this has got to be the fact that I will be making new, nicer friends that will actually respect me. And of course all the new boy.

"All right everybody get in the car or I'm going to have to leave you here," my dad jokes and I immediately race towards my usual seat. I grab my headphones and start to listen to the playlist I mostly use. As the car finally starts to move, I take one last look at my old home before it is out of sight.

My long sand blond hair sparkles in the afternoon sunlight as we pull up to our new home. The drive had taken a little bit longer than usual due to traffic but no biggy. I check the time on my phone. 4:34 it reads. I hop out of the car taking a look at my grandparents familiar house. Never in my life would I have thought I'd be living at my grandparents house.

The house was quiet large, much larger than any of the other houses in my old neighborhood. The house was built only a few blocks away from my new school, Timberwood. The house has a modern look to it with olive-green painted walls on the outside and a mud brown trim around the windows and door. Grandma keeps the grass and garden well maintained and a lovely white ash tree on the opposite of the garage. Looking up more towards the roof there was a small window in the center of the upstairs. That was my room.

"Don't just stand there Bella, grab one of these boxes!" My mother says grabbing a medium sized box. I take a smaller one full of some junk from my old room and carry it to the door. Then the door swings open and grandma gives me a ginormous hug, though I can't hug her back since I have to keep a tight grip on the box I brought in with me. "Charlie come over here! Bella's here!" Grandma's excitement is almost to much to bare. My grandpa appears from the living room a moment later and a quickly set the box down on a near by table before embracing him in a hug. The rest of my family joins me inside and is soon overwhelmed by hugs and kisses.

I take this opportunity to take my stuff upstairs. I grab the box and climb up the endless mountain of stairs before reaching the top. I've never had stairs in my house before so this is going to to take some getting used to.

When I get to the top there are three visible doors that are all slightly opened. Grandma had the house redone last summer so I haven't even seen the room I'll call my own. I head for the door to the left, I can see the gray blue paint on the walls that I requested. Pushing the door open I see a plain, colorless room that wasn't much bigger than the room I had in San Francisco. There are only three furniture items in the whole room. A bed with no bed spread, a vanity, and an empty wardrobe, all a graceful white.

The afternoon sun shined through the blinds giving the room a warm orange glow. It is relaxing but the room didn't feel like mine. It smells like my grandparents house, not my own. It is weird though, this only feels temporary but I'm never going to live at my old house again, this is my home now.

"Bella where'd you go? Come help us with these boxes!" I hear my mother call from down stairs. I set my box on the exposed bed and dash back to the car. I see grandma heading inside with a box, of course she's insisted on helping us, I think. I guess grandpa's resumed his position on the couch.

The rest of the evening consists of lugging boxes up the stairs and going back down to get more. At last my mom took the last box inside thus ending the tiring cycle. Slumping down on the sofa I closed my eyes for a moments rest. Though I only got a few seconds of peace before my dad called me into the kitchen for dinner. Pushing myself off the couch I drag my sleepy body to the table and began to much on the food grandma had made. Looking outside the window it was now completely dark and I couldn't make out anything more than a few plants.

Once I have finished I go back up stairs to find my bed covers. After looking in a couple boxes I found them and began to make my bed. I struggle to wrap the white sheets to the corners of my bed. Then I shove my pillow into the pillow case and throw my orange patterned quilt onto the bed.

After I have to dig in one of the boxes, that I had previously found was full of clothes, and find my pajamas. Once I have I took off my regular clothes (a lose fitting t-shirt and shorts) and slipped into some leggings and another t-shirt. I then get into my bed to fall asleep.

My floor was littered in boxes full of my things but none of them were put in their new place. The only things of my you could see were some close scattered on the wooden floor.

I stare up at the ceiling, it looks like the one at my old house, it is comforting. For a moment I forget that I am at my grandparents home. For a moment I do want to go home. But then I remember what life was like back there.

The horrible neighborhood of which was made up of old houses on the rough side of town. My mean and self-centered friends who only used me to mock so they'd feel better about themselves. I think about all the guys I liked that never liked me back because they always liked my friends who were so much prettier than me. I think of what they would say to me;

"He won't like you. Bella you you're so plain. Your look has no spice and guys don't like that," Genivive constantly would say whenever I told her I was into a guy at our school.

"Oh don't wear a crop top it shows off your fat stomach," Lucy said when I went to the mall with her.

"I wounder if some foundation would cover those red pimples," Rachel told me even though I barley have any acne.

But then I remember Harper. Harper was my best friend, and unlike the other girls she was kind, and caring, and beautiful. She is the prettiest girl I know, and not just because of how she looks;  Harper cares about everyone and everything and believes everyone is beautiful. She's also smart and funny.

We would do everything together. She really understood me and I loved her for that. She never said that my look was plain, or that I was to fat to wear a crop top, or that I needed to cover my skin in makeup. She liked me for who I was and I don't think I'll be able to find anyone like her at my new school.

Eventually my eyes get heavy and my thoughts slow as I drift off into a dreamless sleep.
