There is no one word to describe this day and the events that occurred. When I woke up this morning, I thought it would just be a normal day: wake up, train for an hour, go to school, go home, do homework, and do the normal things teenage wolfs do. Boy, was I wrong.
I knew there was something up when I came home after my training my mom didn't make pancakes. She always made pancakes. She seemed too on edge for my liking and completely ignored me when I asked what's wrong. Now normally she tells me everything. But today, today was different. She didn't utter a word. Just ushered me to make my own breakfast and hurry off to school. As I walked to Jackson View High School, something eerie was amiss.
The weather itself was creeping me out and I quickly put in my earbuds to distract myself from all the weird vibes I was feeling. My wolf was on edge and she didn't like the fact that I was ignoring the world around me but I needed to have something distract me so I didn't go insane. I could feel my heartbeat in my head and suddenly, my wolf was on high alert.
Hide in that bush, NOW! She screamed at me.
I ducked into the bush and then, all hell broke loose.
When I wasn't paying attention, the street became divided and it was the warrior wolfs on one side, normal pack members on the other. Thank god my wolf told me to move, otherwise I would have been caught in the crossfire of a civil war.
Brother against brother, families being torn apart left and right. I sprinted all the way to my house to avoid witnessing any more bloodshed. My family was nowhere to be found.
"Mom?! Dad?!" I screamed and ran up the stairs. "Sean, Greg?!" I slammed open all the doors but no one was there. I turn around and suddenly see a shadowy figure behind me with a knife. My instincts kicked in and I jumped out the window.
"You WILL suffer the same fate, little girl." The figure yelled at me and smirked.
I ran to the woods and didn't stop.
Shift, it will be easier on us Car. My wolf urged me.
Fine, but don't do anything stupid. I shifted and my wolf was at ease.
We reached the human town that was just outside of old territory and I shifted back to human form. I wandered the town, noticing all the small little shops here and there. Millie's Dinner looked like a good place to find some food. If only I had some money....
I walked inside and noticed the 1950's style dinner had so much charisma. The checkered floors, the neon signs everywhere you turn, and the jukebox in the corner that was screaming for me to put on some groovy music. Suddenly, there was a ding! and I immediately smelled heaven.
"Order's up!" a grudge voice said.
"What can I do you for, hun?" an elderly lady asked me. Her white hair was permed, her makeup was bright and colorful. She reminded me of a more hip version of my own grandma.
I felt tears brim my eyes and started to sob. She rushed over in a panic and rubbed my back while I cried and cried.
"I-i-i-i'm so sorry, I am a mess right now." I squeaked out.
"Oh, honey. What happened?" Her voice filled with concern and her eyes looked deep into mine and I smiled, hope filled my heart.
I told her my sob story, minus the part about werewolves since the human community can't know about my kind, and she said this to me:
"Well, you are welcome to stay with my husband and I. We haven't had a guest in our house since our granddaughter came to visit a couple years ago. We would be happy to help you out, sweetheart." Her smile lit up my heart with joy and I felt safe.
Now, if only things could stay this way...
*Author's note:*
Hey guys, I know I haven't written anything for a really long time but here's the gist of my story:
I am in my second year of college and it's freaking stressful. I also work part time and I am in a relationship with a wonderful guy. Needless to say, my life is crazy!
But I'm super excited to write this story because I've always wanted to dip into the werewolf category and try this out. I hope you guys love it as much as I love writing it.
Oh, and don't forget to check out the girl who did this AMAZING COVER: aneonsky, she is so freaking talented!!!
Thank you all for taking a chance on this!
