Its exactly 1700 Hours, not nearly enough time for me to get myself in check. Just the day before the jumbotrons portrayed the headline, "Eden Bataar Wing in republic for interview." It was nonsense to think that Eden would come to the republic without his brother beside him. It was nonsense to think that I would see him. I didn't know what to think, I just thought about our time together. I could request to see him, Anden surely would let me, given our history. I think over it again, deciding against it, given that it wouldn't benefit me or him. I am walking the streets of Ruby sector, slowly making my way home. I had an easy day, but then again so are most of my days. Being the head commander of all squadrons in California has its perks, but its not very exciting. As I continue to think about Day, and anything else that crosses my mind, I nearly run into a merchant readying his store for tomorrows rush hour. With a somewhat clear head, I reach my high rise. Today is my 27th birthday, something I haven't been looking forward to. Metias was the same age as I am now, when he died. It killed me to know that from now on, I would always be older than him, I wouldn't be his baby sister anymore. As I entered my apartment, a hollow feeling fills my heart. I yearn for Metias's presence, his loyalty to the Republic and to me. I yearn for Day's love, and his warmth. But I know I can't have either, not anymore. With a heavy heart, I get myself ready for the small party Tess is throwing on my behalf. She had told me of two special guests who would also be attending. I wondered who they were, hoping that one of them wasn't Anden. Anden and I are friends, but its been more awkward ever since we had dated then broken up. I still trusted and loved him, just not in the way he wanted. Once I was ready I exited my apartment and walked the streets for the second time that night. As I boarded the train that would take me to Batalla sector, I found myself hoping. I didn't know for what, the possibility of meeting Day? It was irrational to think that I would see him again. Sure he may be in the Republic, but the Republic is a big country. As I exit the train, and walk southward towards Tess's high rise, something catches my eye. Or someone catches my eye. His hair is shorter, only reaching his eyes, he's taller and stockier. But there is no mistaking him. He smiles at his brother, and the glow of it could be seen six miles away. I don't want him to see me, but at the same time I do. Before I reach him, I turn around, having an alternative route in my mind. I hear footsteps behind me, fast and agile. Before I know it, there is a tap on my shoulder, and I find myself turning around to meet Day's beautiful face.

"Excuse me." He says. His voice is clear, deep, and smooth. I would describe it as melodic.

"Yes?" I say, trying to keep my voice as level as possible.

"Have we met before?" He asks. I stifle a sob.

"No." I say amazed at how clear my voice is.

"Are your sure?" He says. "There is a fog around you that I would like to clear."

"Is there?" I ask.

"Yes and I would like to fix that." He pauses, furrows his brows and lowers his voice as he speaks. "Its you."

"It is?" I ask. He doesn't respond, he grabs my hand and shakes it. The warmth from his touch courses through my skin.

"Hi," he says, "I'm Daniel."

"Hi." I reply, "I'm June."
