Chapter 7 ~ Taste Of Your Own Medicine

Start from the beginning

I continued my screaming.

The bat started to come closer and it morphed slowly into a scarecrow.

The one that haunted my sleep when I was 15.

The one that turned me into who I am today.

Edward crouched down in front of me, leaning his arms on my knees.

"Is there an antidote?"

"IS THERE AN ANTIDOTE?" He repeated.

"IN THE BRIEFCASE!" I shut my eyes, refusing to look at that ghost of my past again.

He took a vial of purple liquid out and took the cork off the top.

"Open your mouth."

I refused.

"Just co-ordinate with me and open your mouth!"

The reason I din't want to open my mouth: the horrible taste and after effects of the vile liquid. I opened my mouth anyway and he chugged it down my throat.

A few muffled chokes and gags escaped my mouth.

I swallowed the liquid(oh my god this sounds really really wrong if you have an exremely dirty mind like me. I should've called this The Fear Toxin Fic or Fifty Shades Of Fear Toxin XD) and felt it slide down my throat.

"Has it gone?" He asked me, trying to make his eyes connect with mine, but I just looked in my lap and nodded.

"Are you okay?"

My eyebrows furrowed at this question.

"Are you serious?"

"What?" Now his eyebrows furrowed.

"You had a change of heart, didn't you?"

"What's that supposed to mean? I just saved your life!" He smirked that teasing smirk of his- not in a gay way. He has a nice smile...

"I could kill you right now," His cheeky smile dropped. "but I won't. I physically can't."

He stood up and pushed his chair back into the corner of the room.

He looked back at me.

He sighed.

"Jonathan?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm gonna set you free."

I gave him a funny look.

"What?"

He sighed again.

"I need to set you free."

He came back over to me and untied the rope that kept me glued to the chair. I rubbed my forearms and wrists and felt the life coming back to me. I stood up.

"Thank you." I whispered.

We stood relatively close, he towered over me.

"You need to leave." He stood back. I took a step closer.

"I won't without you."

"Please."

I smirked.

"Now you're the one 'Please!'ing!"

He shook his head and walked to the window. He opened to fully then looked back at me.

"Out."

I frowned and did what I was told. I was halfway climbing out when Edward pulled me back and-

Hugged me?

I chuckled slightly and hugged back.

After what felt like a while, he broke the hug and smiled.

"I'll miss you."

I gave him a confused look.

"Wh-what do you mean? I'll come back and talk to y-"

"No. You need to leave Gotham."

I laughed in disbelief.

"Are you serious?"

"Stop saying that, and yes, I am. Now go."

"I'm not leaving Gotha-"

"Go."

I sighed.

"Okay."

I made my way out of the window and walked down the city streets lined with abandoned buildings- no- shells of abandoned buildings.

You're not leaving.

I have to, Edward told me to.

If Edward told you to put your hand in the fire, would you do it?

...

For God's sake, Crane! What happened to you while you were experimenting on him?

I-I think I like him...

No.

What?

You don't. I won't let that happen. I'm taking over.
