I sighed in relief once I realized I was alone once again. I turned my attention to my map an tried to figure out a way back to camp without running into those flesh addicts, I sighed the only route I could really take would take me at least an hour an a half to get there an it would be dark by then. Shit, I fell to my knees an tried to rest for a bit, I looked down at my stained cloths, grayish skinny jeans a hole starting to begin in my left knee, a old ripped V neck that read "star trek" my favorite leather jacket an a pair of combat boots, on both of my legs I had gun an knife holsters strapped firmly. I stood up picking up my back pack an Crossbow, I slung both over my shoulder an began to walk towards camp. I approached a small house, it was getting dark an if I'd need to find somewhere to sleep, I sighed an steadied my crossbow. I reached the front door an hit the door afue times, if their are any deado's in there they will come out...I waited silently listening for anything... I hit the door again, I heard a faint growling come from the other side. I swung open the door an stood off to the side. I readied my crossbow an waited for them to come out the door. The smell of rotten flesh filled my nose a smell that is now to familiar I squinted at the smell as I pulled the trigger sending an arrow deep into the deado's head, I quickly reloaded an knocked once more. Making sure he was not the only one. I relaxed a bit once nothing else exited the old house. I retrieved my arrow from the deado's head an began to slowly search the rest of the house. After I cleared the first floor I slowly made my way upstairs, I came to a room with a queen size bed occupied by a older woman...she had a single bullet hole in her head, apon further expection she had clearly been bit on her lower arm.... I sighed an looked out the window, it was now dark out. I walked out of the room an went into a small side room that had a window that lead out onto a small section of the roof, this is where I'll sleep I silently shut the door behind me an locked it. I layed out my small sleeping bag an staired out the window, the last thing a thought about was my friends back at camp....I hope they are okay, with that I drifted off into a light sleep.

I woke up to the sun beating down on my face, I reluctantly rolled over an began to get up, my legs an back throbbed I sighed an an collected my things I was snapped outta my thoughts to when I heard a thump from down stairs I quickly put on my combat boots an threw my bag on my shoulder I readied my crossbow an opened the door slowly, I walked down the stairs trying not to make the stairs creek, I reached the bottom of the stairs but nothing was in sight, I lowered my crossbow, an headed to the door. I opened the door an let the early morning breeze blow through my blonde pixie cut, I ran my fingers though it an sighed what I would do to get a shower, I frowned an headed toward camp with haist, I was snapped from my thoughts when I heard a branch snap, in an instant my crossbow was loaded an aimed toward the noise, it was a deer maybe 15 ft away I grinned slightly an took the shot, I shot its back leg clean off, the deer panicked an took of the best it could, I sighed an picked up the leg an began to follow the blood trail. Twelve minute into my search I saw the deer it was down but a deado was feasting on it. I sighed angrily an sent an arrow through the deado's brain. I quickly retrieved my arrow an looked at the deer Fuck there's no way I'm gonna be able to save any of that meat. Perfectly good deer gone to waist I growled to myself an kicked the dead body. Well at least I had a leg, I sighed an made my way towards camp. I soon came apon the clearing seeing my friends in a huddle descusing something.

"WHAT THE HELL KITTEN WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN" I was quickly embraced by my best friend Silas, I smiled an held him tight. "We were all worried sick about you kitten please if you plan on staying out for more than a few hours please let us know ."
" I had no intention of staying out their Silas, I was being chased by some deado's by the time I got away I was too far away to make it here before nightfall so I shacked up in a old house."  he smiled an embraced me in another strong hug, I smiled  " common you should know you can't get rid of me Silas I'm here to stay baby ".  I laughed an sent him a sly wink an headed over to the other camp members. Andrew smiled at my presence, I gave a small smile back an gave a quick hug Andrew was my twin He had the same short dirty blonde hair only he had his pushed up an back I kept mine swept across my forhead, Casey not far behind andrew came over an hugged me tightly, he also had blonde hair but he had shorts sides, he gave me a warm smile an joined Andrews side. "Were glad you made it back safe". Andrew kissed his forhead, I grinned an went to check with the rest of the people. I greeted the other members ,I smiled at Payton, Kyra, an Dakota. We all hugged an I gave Kyra the deer leg an asked if she could fix up so grub for the group, she smiled an headed to the small farm house, Payton Dakota Andrew and Casey not far behind. Silas returned to my side as we walked the perimeter checking for any breaks. At first we were both silent, " I missed you this morning",  he said breaking the silence. I rolled my eyes at him, Silas and I have been best friends for years, no matter what he was always so supportive of me, I smiled at the thought. " I missed you to Silas" I grinned as he put his arm over my shoulder. Silas had dark black hair darkly tanned skin an toned arms an body, he smiled at me as we silently walked together, " so where are the look outs?" I said breaking the comfortable silence once more. " they went out on a run for some supplies bout an hour ago they should return anytime now"
Once we were done with the rounds we sat against the fence line an just staired out, I spaced out an began to think about how life was before all this.

FLASH BACK:
" come on kitten the lake is right around the corner," I smiled as Silas dragged me through the woods, we reached a small clearing an he smiled toward me an began to strip off some clothing I laughed an did the same, we bothed jumped into the cool refreshing water escaping the summer heat. We splashed around an giggled until we saw a mangled man he had an empty look in his eyes an he was covered in blood he was on the opposite side of the lake we quickly got out an put cloths on. "Sir are u okay" silas deep voice rang through the silent woods, the strange man didn't answer, silas repeated himself as the man got closer I began to feel uneasy an urged Silas for us to leave, he nodded an grabbed my hand an pulled me through the woods jumping over obstacles until we reached my little cabin " Mom? Dad? Are u home I think we need to call the sheriff there was a man covered in.....I was interrupted when I was pinned down by my father he had the same empty look in his eyes as the man at the lake, he snarled an snapped his jaw at me as I did my best to push him off , while tears clouded my eyes, Silas ripped him off me an yanked me to my feet. With tears in my eyes he carried me all the way to Andrews house.

FLASHBACK OVER:

" kitten? Are u okay?" He snapped me from my thoughts as my eyes met mine. The held worry an concern. "Yeah I'm good...just thinking" "about?" I grinned an playfully pushed him " to go eat some food I smiled an he returned a smile as well, he wrapped his arm over my shoulder as we took our time heading back, the rest of the group was back I hurried over to greet them seeing as how they haven't seen me for a full day.
I looked over to the Rv, I greeted Bryce, Chris, and Ana I saw their eyes light up as I gave them a quick hug. " I'll bring dinner out for you guys, they smiled an nodded.
I headed toward the house. Ireached the stairs an quickly remembered the familiar pain in my legs an back, I sighed an quickly brought food out for Bryce Chris an Ana, we exchanged smiles an I walked back to the house, I went straight to my room an layed on my bed, I let out a relaxed sigh, Silas joined me in the bed very shortly I heard light snoreing from him an with that I fell into a light sleep.
