Ainsley looked around the room, checking to see if she left anything important. What was important at this point? Everything she put in her suitcases would end up reminding her about all the failures she had made in these past 6 years. How could she face her mom? Her dad? Nobody knew yet about the break,  keeping silent for the most part for obvious reasons. She didn't want her parents to hate him, because then it'll just make things worse for her. Him. That's how she addresses him now, just the thought of his name made her want to burst into tears and do things that would put her in the "insane" category.

It had been so long..... So very long.... It was to the point where she had no idea how to go back into society again, how to make friends, how does the dating world work now? She shouldn't be thinking about that, it's still so soon, her scars have not yet healed. 'But I'm sure he's fine'.

She scolded herself for bringing him back up, stuffing another dress into the suitcase of heartbreak. He stopped her from making friends, said that he wanted her all to himself. It was abusive in a way, isolating her like that, but for some odd reason she didn't mind only having him. "I guess that's why Stockholm Syndrome is a thing." She spoke out loud, the sound of her voice was weak; fragile. Only when they last fought did she have a strong and loud voice, but she was fighting FOR the relationship, not fighting to end it. Funny how she didn't have a voice during the relationship, but the minute it was ending it came out of nowhere.

"Ainsley." That voice. That deep, masculine, panty dropping voice. It rattled her insides, freezing her to the bone. Turning around, she met his caramel brown eyes with her crystal blue ones, the tension in the room was suffocating. "I'm almost done, wouldn't want your next plaything to see me." Shutting the suitcase but still keeping eye contact, she lifted it up and placed it with the rest of her things.

"Ainsley, I want you to know that whatever you need..... I'll give it to you. Money, an apartment, a recommendation for a job you want. Anything." Rolling her eyes, she began to check off the things she already packed. "I wanted you to keep it in your pants but I guess that's just another broken promise you can pack into one of these suitcases."

That was a low blow, and she knew it, but the anger that still stuck into her veins was refusing to leave. She looked away before she could see his face.

It was one thing to kick him while she was the one down, but it's another to let that person pick you up after because you feel sorry for doing it.

"I deserve that, I broke our vows and your trust, but please know that no matter what I-"

"Save it Aiden, your words are meaningless now." That was the first time she had said his name today, and the first time it was filled with hatred.

"You said you had a surprise for me before the fight, but you never told me what it was."

The surprise. Thank god she had her back to him otherwise he would see the color drained out of her face. His Italian accent was showing through his words, which only meant he was trying to weasel his way into finding out, he used to only use that voice to find his way into her pants. 6 years he had put her through the best pleasure, out of this world kind. He was a man, the type of man she looked for when their eyes first met six years ago. She was 18 and wanting a man, not a silly boy. A man that knew what he wanted and knew how to pleasure a woman. 'I guess him being Italian had its perks'. Her thoughts were caught off by his next words.

"Tell me, mi bella(my dear), what was the surprise?"

"Don't you ever call me that again Aiden, you lost that right long ago."

A gasp came out of her mouth when she felt him pressed against her back, his arms circling around her waist. "I still remember every night I called you that while you came all over my dick."

Her face resembled a tomato as she shoved him away. "I bet you said that to all of your other women." His face dropped as anger quickly took over his face. "You are the only one I called that, you are the only one I care about and lov-" "stop." She held her hand up, calling for the butlers. 3 came in and immediately started picking them up to take to the car. Living in this mansion with all of Aiden's family and 'family' was nice at times, but when everyone knows what happened, it turns into looks of sympathy and sadness instantly.

Aiden narrowed his eyes. "I agreed to let you take a break from this place Ainsley, I agreed because I know you will come back to me." "Unless I do the one thing that gets me out of doing that." He bunched up his fists, shaking in anger. "You will not find another. I was your first for everything, and I will sure as hell be your last!"

"You can't keep me tied here when you cut your tie long ago, you can't make me stay here and suffer! When I married you, I accepted the mafia life, I accepted all the dangers that came with it and the people you considered family! I just.... Can't accept a cheater." Tears fell down her cheeks.

She let out a weak laugh, "and to think I would've taken a damn bullet for you."

With that, she left, and as she walked out the door, she didn't bother to look behind her.
