Pete has a kid. Patrick doesn't. Pete, Patrick, and Pete's kid, Piper, live together. Pete and Patrick are in love. But Patrick isn't Piper's parent, not really. Or is he?

"Daddy!" Piper cried leaping into Pete's arms, "I had so much fun at Uncle Andy's house!" She squealed with a huge smile.
"Really? What did you do?" Pete asks her smiling back.
"Well first we had a marshmallow fight, and then we got to eat them off of the floor! Then Uncle Joe came over and we watched..." The little girl rambled as Pete helped her into the car. "No Daddy, I've got this." She says seriously as he tries to help her buckle.
As she concentrated Pete caught the end of her sentence, "...taught me."
Pete sees she has managed to buckle herself and moves to the driver's seat. "Ready?" He asks looking back. She nods and they make their way home.

As soon as Pete stops the car (and she unbuckles) Piper rushes into the house. "I'm back!" She exclaims.
"'Rie?" Patrick asks, that's what he calls her, 'Rie' short for Marie which is her middle name.
"Yes! It's me!" She screams, "I missed you!"
"I missed you too, did you have fun?" He asks her with a smile.
"Yes, yes, yes!" She chants.
"I'm glad, but now you have to help me and Daddy cook dinner. Can you peel the oranges?" She nods and pulls her stool towards the fruit bowl so she can reach it.
Pete walks into the kitchen carrying Piper's bag on his shoulder. "I'll make the salad." He tells Patrick dropping the bag.
"Oh, and leave me to do all of the hard work, huh?" Patrick asks.
"Hey, I'm making salad!" Pete exclaimed.
"Thanks..."
"What else are soulmates for?" Pete grinned. Patrick sighed, lately Pete had been saying stupid shit like that. Romantic, yet corny.
"Sure."
So they got to work with dinner, Patrick somehow got Pete to help him make the french fries.
Pete then proceeded to go 'take a nap' and leave Patrick with Piper.
