Maridith looked out of the window of the high church tower, lamenting another extravagant party, the third in a row,its not like she didn't like parties...it was just what this particular one represented. A few days ago a letter had arrived from a prestigious school, asking her to enroll.Somehow this news had been brought to the attention of every living being in the small town and soon the farewells thundered down upon her, which would have meant more if she hadn't heard the whispers as she passed, whispers of relief. She was,by any other towns standards, a normal girl who would fit in with others easily had her father chosen literally any other town to settle down in,the town he did settle down in was called Ashley heights and was surrounded by great cliffs that towered higher than the highest building in the town. The people in the town had accepted her father right away, with a friendly face and a warm handshake.... Sadly for Maradith things were different. As soon as she set foot in the town gossip bloomed from god knows where until she became the witch you did not want to mess with.Under any circumstances. Sure, she was happy to get some street cred,(even though she had done nothing to deserve it)and it kept bully's away far more than semi strict teachers had at her previous school...but she was growing tired of the whispers behind her back and the children crossing to the other side of the street. At least this school would be a new start and it would be far faaar away from this place. With renewed hope of better days to come with this new school (a boarding school no less!)she hoped away from the church window pulling the blinds over the glass so as to not see anymore frolicking because of her leaving. She looked around her room, one of the very few things she would miss.Despite having taken up residence inside an old church it was extremely homey and provided maradith with more fun memories than all the people in the town put together..apart from her dad...before they moved away from ton a Lear ecalp they were best friends, they went on adventures and couldn't have been happier...then....something changed.Anyway her room..it was filled to the brim with colour all of which shone brightly in response to the shining sun. This was her last day here.At the place she ate doritos and chocolate while reclining on a comfy chair and watching anything from Harry potter to sword art online.Soon she would leave her cave of solitude and move on to the new school where she might even be forced to *shudders*have a roommate! She wasn't even very good at talking to people she chose to be around, let alone being forced to!Her fears were set to the side, however,as her father appeared at the door "Aren't you going to join the celebrations?he asked in the loud jovial voice that usually came from him eating all the food at the buffet table. Maridith shook her head trying her best to disguise the annoyance in her voice " I'm not feeling up to it...all the laughter and cheering... Its giving me a headache.."she fibbed trying to ignore the guilt seeping into her soul. "But they're cheering and laughing cause they're happy for you! He exclaimed, beaming proudly, eyes alight with happiness "more like happy I'm leaving" she muttered, unable to resist the temptation of trying to show her father what the people in the town were really like, she had tried to show him for months now and still he refused to see the obvious.... She did not fit I with these strange people. Her father frowned slightly before rolling his eyes "You've been moping around in this room all day, and, since it is your last day here for a while you might as well have fun!Maridith had prepared a brilliant argument in the instances this was brought up,but had no time to use it as, before she even knew what had happened she had been shoved outside of the house and into the midst of the celebration.Dressed only in her cookie monster pyjamas. This didn't bother her too much as her popularity had already hit zero a looong time ago so a little fashion statement wouldn't change that,as people started looking towards her she decided that she might as well pretend that it was on purpose and tried to strut across the pavement determinedly before she noticed the fliers strung all around the walls each flier had the same thing on it:

r Huzzah! The wicked witch that has been plaguing our town
Will soon be lost and never found
In honour of this most splendid occasion we'll have a party
All but she has an invitation!

Seriously? What could be more obvious than that? No way my dad didn't see this! She thought, tearing down the flyer and the picture of a green witch on a broomstick. Now,she didn't mind being associated with witches, she thought they were super cool, but being associated with such a horribly thought of ryme? That was NOT going to happen.Any intelligent person would have walked away to start packing... but Maridith had never been one to back away from a fight...even if she always lost them...So she marched right up to the closest group of people and showed them the flyer "Well? Any idea who made this monstrosity? She asked looking around the group. All was silent until one boy stood up from where he had been setting off more fireworks and walked towards her " I did it,and its no less than a witch like you deserves! He shouted, advancing towards her face red with fury. She stumbled away, all pretence of bravado slipping away as the way too tall boy loomed above her,in her haste she ran forwards right into a young boy who screamed as soon as she touched him "Get away from my brother you savage! Blondie shouted, holding up a freshly lit firework and pointing it right at her face. She jumped away, looking for anyway to escape the new danger " Its not nearly as satisfying as seeing you burnt at the stake, but its something! The boy shouted and let go of the firework just in time for it to fly into Maridith s face causing her to scream as agonizing pain enveloped her face. The last thing she heard was a sadistic laugh before everything turned black.
