He said to me gently.
However, when I glanced down at his mangled left arm, I felt panicky again.
"But I...I..."
"Calm down."
"I hurt you and Triumph!"
As soon as I exclaimed that, he grabbed my shoulders and yanked me against him. His grip was awkward and he seemed to not know what he was doing, but he was trying to help me.
My face was smushed against his chest and he gingerly touched my hair as if he was afraid to break me. His chin rested atop my head and he murmured,
"You were scared and acted out. There's no need to blame yourself for that. I only hit you often because I'm afraid of the situation and don't want to talk. You didn't want to stop being you. That's definitely understandable."
I waited there for awhile longer, then let out a heavy sigh. Sitting up, I met his eyes with no expression other than defeat.
"If that happens again under any circumstance, please don't hesitate to harm me if I become a danger."
I mumbled.
"Got it."
He replied.
As soon as Distance said that, I felt a hand rumbling my hair from behind. I turned to look. As soon as I met Triumph's eye, I felt an immense exhaustion wash over me.
"Take a break, ok? Just sleep."
By the time I realized he was using his voice's power on me, I'd already slumped forward onto Distance, sinking into sleep.

Once Memory had fainted, I hissed through my teeth and shouted,
"MOTHER OF FUCKING DICKS MY ARM!!"
"You're damn strong for holding in the pain all that time."
Triumph commented incredulously.
"CAN YOU ASSIST ME THEN?!"
I growled.
He looked surprised for a moment before nodding and heading into the house for medical supplies. I glanced down at Memory's now-peaceful face and screwed up my mouth. With a new protectiveness burning inside me, I shouted after Triumph,
"Don't pull that shit on him again! He's an idiot, but he's MY idiot and you'll take better care of him if you know what's good for you!"
He paused in the doorway, then smiled at me.
"I got it! Thanks for punching me, by the way! If you hadn't, I probably wouldn't have realized my error!"
He replied.
"Dumbass."
I muttered.
My mother touched my shoulder, then smiled.
"You'll make Memory a good husband some day."
She teased.
I had nothing to say to that, so she obliged in taking Memory from me and carrying him towards the house
Limping from the shards of glass in my feet, I made my way across the yard and through the door. I proceeded to follow my mother up the stairs and into Memory's room. Triumph emerged from the bathroom with the first aid kit and my mother planted a light kiss on Memory's forehead. Once she left, Triumph and I were left alone in the room with Memory.
Staring at the blood all over him for a moment, I chose to glance down at my shredded arm. It was healing visibly, but it was a lot slower than the rate at which Memory healed.
