Chapter 09 (Part Three)

“Yes.”

Good boy.” Vince commended, making Nathan glare at him as he leaned back on the bed and sighed. “I enjoy college. Fun stuff. Not gonna miss it when I graduate though.”

“What are you gonna be?” Skyler asked interestedly. Vince glanced over to her with a smile.

“

I wanna be a journalist. I think that'd be cool. Interview people and shit. What about you?”

Skyler shrugged a little. “Pediatrician. I love kids.”

Vince nodded, looking at Nathan. “And what are you here for?”

“Biomedicine.”

“

Oh, fancy. Guess We'll be calling you 'Dr. Vogel' at some point.”

“Hopefully.” Nathan sighed. Vince smiled, and continued his conversation with Thomas and Skyler. Justin stood up from his spot, walking over to stand next to Nathan and lightly bump his shoulder.

“

What's up with you? You're all anti-social.”

“Just thinking.” Nathan mumbled. “About everything with Varian, and Jecklynn, and school.”

Justin nodded. “Oh, Andrea still wants to know what all's going on with Jecklynn, by the way. So I suggest you call her. Soon.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Nathan rolled his eyes, “I'll do it tomorrow.”

Alright.” Justin murmured, standing quietly for a second before looking back over at Nathan. “You know, I don't think I've ever told you this, but I'm glad you're with Varian.”

“My God, you two do like each other. The world is ending.” Nathan muttered. Justin rolled his eyes.

I'm serious, asshole. It's nice that you found someone like him. I might not know everything about the guy, but I know he's gone through some shit, so.” Justin shrugged. Nathan raised an eyebrow, glancing over.

“Holy shit. Are we having a sentimental moment here?” he asked. Justin smiled a little.

“

Yes. Don't ruin it.” Justin whispered.

“But it's weird.”

“

I said don't ruin it.”

“But-” Nathan tried, but Justin kept cutting him off.

“

You're ruining it.”

“Weird.”

“

And it's ruined.” Justin said loudly, falling back onto Nathan's bed. “I'm hungry. Who's hungry?”

“I'm starving!” Vince added. Soon enough they were all talking about going to a restaurant or something to get food. Nathan smiled a little, listening to them, but not jumping into the conversation. He'd had enough of talking for one night.
