Your POV

Z stopped by my game today. That was nice of her, she didn't have to spend her Sunday watching a game that I played like shit, and we lost. Now Bella, Normani, Z, and I were out to dinner at a diner.

"Look Y/n, that wasn't a fair game. They had 4 girls over 6 feet," Bella assures me, patting my shoulder from across the table. I shrug, putting my arm along the back of the booth, Z blushing a little bit, as she was sitting next to me.

"We coulda won." I didn't wanna get into it. I was hungry and I knew I was going to have to make up for my shit playing at practice tomorrow after school.

Bella could tell, and just nodded looking back at her menu.

I look at my own, deciding on a chicken caesar salad and a water. I can't get a soda because the sugar will give me back all the calories I just lost. Normani, Zendaya, and Bella all start talking about something that I once again wasn't listening to.

"Y/n, do you know Sabrina Carpenter?" Normani asks. I nod. She lives a couples blocks over from us, and I used to be in band with her in junior high. She doesn't go to our school, I think she switched to a public school. "She just came out."

"Cool." She was nice, but not really my type. And just because somebody is gay, doesn't mean that I'm gonna try to get them to be my girlfriend. Also, even though Z and I technically only made out once, and nothing more, I did think it was a little bit disrespectful to talk about a possible hookup in the future in front of her.

We have a nice dinner, the salad being pretty good. I finished my homework this morning, lucky enough that I didn't have too much. Bella drove us home, dropping off Normani then Z, who gave me a quick peck on the cheek before getting out of the car.

"What do you think of her?" Bella asks as we drive away from the curb. I shrug, running a hand through my hair, not really thinking much of the brunette.

"She's nice," I concur, Bella laughing.

"Are you gonna ask her out? I think she likes you," Bella smirks, nudging my side gently.

"No." We've made out once, and she came to one of my games, there wasn't anything special there. I mean, maybe it was possible, but my life was okay right now, without having a girlfriend.

"Worded well," Bella groans, pulling into the driveway.

I hop out of the car, heading into the house, seeing my parents sitting in the living room, doing their respective paper work, yet holding hands across the couch. "Oh, hey girls. Y/n how was your game?" My dad asks as I sit in the recliner, Bella plopping down on the ground.

"Awful," I mumble, my dad urging me to continue. "I scored maybe 14 points, had at least 4 turnovers, and missed 2/6 free throws."

"Why? You never play like that? Is your head somewhere?" He asks. I shake my head, standing up to go upstairs. "Take a hot shower, kiddo. We can work on it tomorrow if you want."

I nod, hugging my parents quickly before jogging upstairs. I hang up my sweatshirt in my closet, putting my sweatpants and uniform in my hamper. I grab a towel, disappearing to go take a shower.

I was bummed about the game, but I needed to focus on the next game, not dwell on this one. Once I wash my hair, I change into a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. It was only 8:30, but I climbed into bed anyway, scrolling through my social media, liking a couple pictures, favoriting tweets, ect.

"I seriously think you should ask Z out," Bella says, walking into the room, over to her closet.

"I will when I want to," I groan, putting my phone into the charger, sitting up in my bed, brushing my hair, then tying it up.
