Both Of Our Hearts Believe

C h a p t e r 1

[24th of April 2013]

I'm not sure if I'm losing my mind or not. He's there. Lying on the bed in a hospital, barely breathing.
I've tried to calm down, and after a few times, I've started to breathe in slowly, in and out, letting my chest go up and down.

"Ms Steven, will you follow me to my office?"

Without hesitation, I said yes and stumbled when I stood up. It's 2:56 a.m. now, and the sound of our footsteps in the empty hallways made me nervous.

"Come in, Ms Steven."

I did a little nod, and sit on the chair infront of the table.
I nervously bite the inside of my cheek, praying silently that he's gonna be okay.

"Okay, let's start from the accident."

I look at the doctor in the eye.

"Shall we?"
"Yes please." I replied.
"The accident, Ms Steven. I'm surprised that you've survived from it. With no terrible injury, but just scratches." She said.

He saved me.

"But let's move on. So, Mr Beckham. Mr Beckham, He... had a terrible injury which have been on his left side head after the accident. I'm afraid that it might effect his memory."

I look her and everything stops.
I'm afraid that it might effect his memory.

"Ms Steven?"

I blink and before I knew it, a tear slipped off of my eye. With no hesitation, I reply,
"What do you mean, doc Savannah?"

Doctor Savannah is the only doctor I could trust. She has been my family doctor for years now, since my mom had me her belly and there no way, she couldn't heal anything. I'm sure that she's kidding, right?

"Cara... You know what I'm trying to say, right?"

I feel something build up inside of me and it feels like it's going to burst anytime.

"No." I look straight into her eyes.

She started to lean against her chair and sigh.
"He's going to have an amnesia."

I couldn't take it anymore. I stand up and slam the table with my bare hand.

"You're lying." I said, with tears brimming in my eyes.
"You can see it for yourself, but not now." She replied.

I sit back on the chair and started crying.

"It is all my fault."
