Here, difference is punishable by death. Only the royal family is above this law. I write this message in the dark of night, hidden in my little cave underground. Eventually I will leave this cursed land of shadows. But for now, someone needs to help them. Bring them hope. Something will come, someone will free us. Chapter One: Shaman

     "Trinity! Get up! Time to go!" Trinity groans and rolls over, falling off her cot. She lands heavily on the worn wooden floor below. The voice calls again, prompting Trinity to scramble to her feet and pull on her jacket.
     "Coming! I'm coming!" she yelps, in response to being threatened to be left behind- not that her family would. Everyone was required to be at the trials, from the youngest child to the oldest elder, even the sick and infirm. Any failure to show up would result in the punishment of not only the offender, but his/her family also. The trial occurs every five years;
