Chapter 2

Lucas

I leant back in my chair and stared at the same old boring white board and the same old boring teacher. I looked around the class at all of the bored looking faces, one in particular standing out.

“Pst, Lissa.” I whispered loudly watching her shoulders tense at the urge to look over at me. “Lissa, turn around, Lissa.”

The teacher turned around with a stern look on her face. “Mr Knight, are you disrupting my class?”

I shook my head innocently and chuckled. I plastered my charming grin on my face and replied. “No Ms, I think it was coming from over there though.” I pointed to Lissa who was burning holes into my handsome face. “Just saying.”

The teacher moved her beady eyes to glare at Lissa who was sitting beside Brandon Enrich. “Lissa, is there anything you’d like to share with the class?”

Her mouth dropped and she looked around the room with a pink smirk then she stood up. “Yes Ms, there is.” She announced. “I’d just like to share to the rest of the class how much I hate Knights, especially those that go by the name of Lucas.”

I bit my lip trying not to laugh. I started to clap my hands and cheer. “Well done Lissa, very well done.”

Our teacher shook her head. “Both of you,” She snapped. “Principal’s office, now!”

I laughed, stood up and walked over to Lissa’s desk offering her my hand. She ignored it and stood up on the other side of the chair almost tripping over in the process.

She strutted away and out the door on her way down the hall in the direction of the Principal’s office. I followed her the whole way grinning and trying not to laugh too much.

When we got there she sat down grumpily in a chair closest to the door of the office. I sat down in the one right beside her. So she stood up and moved to the one as far away from me as possible.

I laughed and hung my head looking down at the ground. I sucked in a breath and leant back placing my hands behind my head. “You know I could still walk over there and sit next to you.”

She looked up angrily but didn’t speak.

I shook my head in amusement. “You make me laugh Lissa, how do you always do that?”

She sighed. “Stop talking to me Lucas. I can’t believe you got me kicked out of class. You really don’t get it do you.” She stood up now walking closer to me. “I’m not joking when I say how much I don’t like you. I’m not going to sugar-coat it, I hate you. Go away and never speak to me again.”

I pretended to wince. “Wow, you got me bad Liss. I don’t know how I’m going to get over that one. Oh wait, I just did.”

She rolled her eyes again and continued on ignoring me.

“You know I really could care less about what you think.” I told her. “If you say you don’t want to talk to me you know I’ll just talk to you more because I know how much it annoys you.”

“Do you like live to annoy me or something?” She wondered not bothering to even glance at me.

I shrugged. “Nope, but it is fun.”

And that was the end of our conversation.

By the time recess came around I was bored again. My next two periods were sport so I went to my locker and pulled out my bag of gear. Today I was in the pool so I had my board shorts. I grinned knowing that Lissa and her friends also had the class with me. I made my way slowly towards the building that held the pool and wandered inside and into the change rooms. I could hear chatting coming from the girls’ wing so I knocked on the door to find out what was happening.
