The Miracle

I was told if something amazing ever happened to me to write it down. So I am writing this down. It starts out bad, but the ending is great. This life is like a web.

A couple of my friends and I were going to this crazy party. That's who we were though girls, beers, and basket ball. Life was great we just won state and decided to go out and party. Riding down the highway to get to the party, we were listening to classic rock. Jake (the driver) changed the station to a weird station but I didn't care. Neither did Dean he was sitting in the passenger seat. Our warm up song came on which was Face Everything And Raise.

Jake yelled "Hell yeah, let's get this party started." (He took a drink of his beer.)

Dean added "Guys, guys I have a goal for us tonight."

I questioned "and what's that Dean?"

He looked back and replied "let's all get so drunk that we pass out?"

Jake grabbed another beer then threw me one.

I said "too bad you can't shoot as good as you can throw "

Dean busted out laughing and yelped "that's why we have you."

Jake just drank up his beer and commented " let's play chicken with this semi-truck."

Dean laughed and replied "dude let's do it."

We were all drunk so we weren't thinking of might go wrong. I didn't say anything but I was nervous about what might happen. We changed lanes to line up with the truck. I quickly buckled up and then we hit the truck.

It happened within seconds we ended up in the ditch upside down. Dean wasn't buckled he went through the windshield. Jake was knocked out, i unbuckled and fell to the car's roof. I could barely move but I reached out to check Jake's plus. I fainted knowing that Jake was dead.

I woke up in the hospital a few days later. Everything was blurry at first but it cleared up. My parents weren't there, maybe they already up gave on me. I would not blame them, I would of gave up too.

The nurse came in and said with shock "Hello, welcome back how was sleeping for a few days?"

I replied "fantastic, except I'm very thirsty." (I get up and grab a cup. Walked over and got water. Then went back to my bed and the nurse just looked at me.) I added "What?"

The nurse stated "your a very lucky guy. You got up and just walked the doesn't happen a lot. You're a miracle. "

I replied "I'm not miracle. Jake died, is Dean okay?"

The nurse answered "Dean passed away shortly before we could get him here."

I replied "see that's not a miracle!!!!"

She stated "the doctor will be in shortly his name is Dr. Higgen."

After that she walked out. I was alone in the room for about five minutes, then the doctor came in.

Dr. Higgen stated with a cheerful face "well once your parents get here, you can go home. Just make sure you do quite a bit of walking."

He left the room again which was good. I just watched TV a lot of TV. My phone was on the counter which I didn't know at first. My phone started going off and that's how I knew. I grabbed it and I had one hundred sixteen texts and twenty four missed calls. Messages from the team mostly talking about the winning shot I took at state. I was shooting guard which gave me lots of threes. I watched lots of basketball while waiting for my parents. It was about five thirty when they finally showed. We never really talked about anything, My dad sometimes would talk about the shots I've made in the lasted game. My mom was crying for five minutes before we could leave.They walked me to the car while talking about my pills and basket ball.
