I'm running through the forest. Tripping over logs and branches unaware of where I am going. I still hear him yelling after me to come back when he couldn't keep up with me. I hear his shotgun going off but his shot is so bad it he didn't get anywhere near me. I'm finally escaping from him. It took me over three years but I've done it. I can now hear the sound of cars nearby and the beeping of vans. I'm amazed to know I can identify these sound from being so isolated from the outside world. I run toward the sounds as best I can as its the best chance of my survival. I'm exhausted but I keep on running. Soon, all I hear is my feet and the cars. I'm so close. I may not hear his husky voice but I can hear the barking of the dog. If I don't make it soon the dog will get me and it's all over. Even for my height and size his Rottweiler can still take me down in seconds. Then I see the road. I'm so close. Then I hear the dog running to me. I twist me head around to see him and he's no more than 10 feet away. I fall but quickly get up and look at my target, the road. I'm so close. Only a few feet left until freedom. I get to the side of the road when I feel myself being pushed on the ground hard and my skin scrapes the ground. The dog is in top of me biting my arm in attempts to drag me back to his master. I scream with the pain hoping someone will hear me or see me but no help comes. I cry knowing this is as far as I'll get when I hear his voice," YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD FUCKING LEAVE ME BITCH?!" I still had a will to live so I kicked the dog off of me with both of my legs and got up at ran on the road in front of a huge bus. The driver beeps his horn yelling at me but stops when he sees the blood dripping from my face and arm. He opens the door and I run to it quickly. Just as I reach the door he shoots me in the back. The driver yelled," SHIT! Guys help me now this girl needs help from this dude with a gun!" I feel hands pull me up from the stairs of the bus immediately and I hear the doors close. His shotgun goes off again smashing the door but the bus has already started to leave. I hear the people on the buss yell "STEP ON IT!" as we drive away. I pass out from exhaustion as well as my wounds knowing that I was finally in safe hands.
