White. That was the only way to describe the metallic smelled room. From the blinds on the windows. To the smooth walls. To the white tilled floor. A simple well made single bed was tucked into the corner of the room leaving a vast wide open space. Another two walls and a door was on the left corner, opposite of the bed, next to the silver sink, which was the only pop of color besides the dark locks and metal door with a one way window.
A airy desk stacked with exactly ten papers, one pencil, and one eraser sat neatly beside the wide rules paper. Long black hair stood out from the pale moonlight skin and white simple dress. Short cut fingernails were wrapped around a dull point pencil as the other hand pulled back the raven hair to reveal large lifeless eyes with dark bags.
A pink tongue darted out to lick its cracked dry lips. The sound of clicking heels filled the room as the person grew nearer soon enough the locks that were meant to keep the insanity in were clicked open then the sound of locks were stopped.
"Dottie time for your medicine."
A young voice filled the once stilled room. Dottie turned to see the morning nurse carrying the tray of poison with a bulky guy there to make sure that the patients "don't get too out of hand." Dottie wanted to spot and hiss at the lady and man. Dottie was not insane. Dottie just knew too much. That's what that man said and Dottie trusted the man. That man knew what Dottie was and that made Dottie like him.
Too bad Dottie was stuck. Stuck in this white room. Dottie wanted to be free to go back to that man but Dottie could never get pass that door. Dottie did once early on. Dottie passed that door and all she saw was white and even more white but then she also saw a vibrant color. A color so bright that Dottie's eyes hurt from looking. Then Dottie was taken away from the color. Dottie missed the color. Dottie wants the color.
The lady walled towards Dottie with a plastic cup. Dottie couldn't use glass cups anymore not since what happened last time.
Dottie could still remember what happened last time. That is why it smells even more metallic than usual with a large dose of cleaning supplies.
Dottie could still recall how the red color felt against her cold skin and made it more eye-catching. Dottie liked that color too. But the nurse nor the others like that color. So that color soon disappeared. Disappeared because of them. Dottie was saddened by the miss of color.
Dottie pale hands left Dottie's face and utensil as they wrapped around the musky water. Dottie stared at the light pink pill while it sank deeper and deeper towards the bottom to dissolve forever.
Dottie brought the cup towards her lips and felt it run past her mouth down her throat.
Dottie made a distasteful face. Dottie hated this time. Dottie wouldn't be able to talk to the man when he comes. Dottie sighed and waited to be left alone again. Dottie knew she had some time before breakfast. So Dottie sat in the middle of the room away from the desk, the chair, the bed, and the shower closed her eyes and waited for the colors.
