"1...2...3!" Kenneth shouted.
As soon as he gave the signal, everyone ran out of Denny's as fast as they could. But Krissy wasn't as prepared.
I turned around, hearing plates clatter from our booth. Krissy was struggling to get her food together, her hazel eyes wide with alarm.
I scrambled back towards her, and helped her. After we got everything together, we froze.
We heard our waiter.
"Hey! Get back here and pay for that!" He screamed, charging towards us.
Krissy and I streaked past the waiter. His pale hands clenched into fists, and brown eyes welled with frustration.
"C'mon!" I called back to the 9 year old orphan.
In about 10 seconds, I was outside in the fresh night air.
As soon as I was out in the parking lot, I noticed two things.
Amaya, whose eyes were blazing with fury. And Kenneth, who was pacing, and mumbling to himself in a distressed way.
All of a sudden, Kenneth looked up at me. His turquoise eyes lit up with relief and joy. A smile formed on his face.
Sorry kinda short....next chapter is on Monday!
