I already know what you're thinking. I know my name sounds like more a of a boys name and all, but of course it wasn't my choice.
You see, my dad and his brother were both in the Navy (well he still is in the Navy but you get the idea right?) while my mom was 8 months pregnant with me, and the day before I was born, his brother went missing and in memory of him, they gave me his middle name.
Like...
They couldn't wait till they had a son? Oh wait, they only wanted one perfect child, so here I am on my way to the candy shop.
(imma take you to the candy shop 😏)
As I opened the door the little bell rang as it always had.
"Hey Ryan!" Mrs.Tanner, the owner of the Candy shop, smiled. "Yo!" I waved back. He pressed a few buttons on the cash register and pulled out change.
I was going for the sour skittles, but I accidentally grabbed a hand instead.
"You know, your hand fits in mine, like it's made, just for me." I looked up and met with a pair of soft hazel looking eyes. Maybe even green, hard to tell.
"That would have been a good line if I liked one direction." I giggled. "Hey, you can't blame a guy for trying right?" He smiled.
"I'm Ethan." He said holding his hand out. I took it and shook it,"Ryan." He gave me a weird look.
"Isn't that usually a boys name?" He softly laughed. "Not that it's a bad name or anything, it suits you well."he rambled.
"No, it's fine, I was named after my uncle before he went missing in the Navy." I said. "Oh, I'm sorry-"
"It's fine Ethan, I didn't know him." I laughed while I pulled my hair out of my face.
"So, do you want the Sour skittles or?..." He said. "Well there are many different packets, so I'll just get one and go." I said.
I grabbed a packet and walked to the register. "He's a keeper huh!" She smiled. "I don't know, he seems nice." Out of the corner of my eye, I could see him staring at me.
She put my candy in a small bag and gave me my change. I walked out and began to make my way home.
"Hey Ryan! Wait up!" I turned around and saw Ethan running after me. Sprinting actually.
"Woah, dude, hey?" I chuckled. "Hey. So I wanted to know if I could have your number?" He asked with a smile.
I thought for a moment

AHHHHH what the heck
It's summer.
"Uhm sure." He handed me his phone and I have him mine. When he gave it back I was shocked by the name.
"Sexy boy 16? Really?" I laughed. "Well what can I say, I am a sexy boy who is 16." He smiled widely. "Well I'll probably change it later, but on another note, you look really familiar."
He does, I just can't put my finger on it.
He ran his fingers through his hair and smirked. "Well I don't want to brag, but I'm pretty famous on YouTube. I make videos with my brother every Tuesday." He said.
Oh right!
"Oh yeah huh! The Dolan twins right?" I smiled. "Yep."
"You guys are hilarious." I complimented. "Thanks Ryan." He smiled.
"So anyway, I gotta go. Maybe we can kick it tomorrow?" He asked. "Sure, just text me where." I said.
"Sure thing. Bye Ryan." We both waved and went our separate ways.
I finally made it home, I'm surprised I didn't die in that heat!
I sprinted up the stairs and flopped across my bed.
New memories, begin, starting now.
