Won won, I had a great time last night and I can't wait to go to brunch with your family today. I'm so excited the only thing that got me to get out of your apartment this morning was the idea of wearing a gorgeous dress to impress your mother.

Ron sat in his bed scratching his head wondering how Lavender found out about brunch day with the Weasleys. He looked at the love note with despair but realized that it was beneficial in the sense that he didn't have to wake up next to Lavender. He sighed and decided it was time he get dressed to meet his disappointed family.

On the other side of town Hermione was in athletic pants and a crewneck sweater being yelled at by the Potters. "Mione you have to come to the brunch.. you have to show Ron that you got back up. Ever since he left you've become so much more confident. You smile more, you dress better, and I've seen you notice other guys. It's been a week since my daft best friend and my brilliant best friend broke up and in that week I've seen brilliant best friend blossom into a new woman who forgives and forms friendships with some of our worst enemies and I've seen her keep traditions with some old friends to." He said while looking at Ginny as if cueing it was her turn to talk "THAT WAS SWEET AND EMOTIONAL BUT I'M NOT THAT NICE GET OUT OF THOSE PJS PUT ON A DRESS AND LETS MOVE. Also I wanted to let you know that imayhaveinviteddraco." Ginny said that last part in a slur. "YOU What?!" Hermione yelled. "You heard Weaselette she invited me." said the one voice that she didn't really want to hear. Draco came up in a gray jacket over a bright red v-neck shirt he wore this over blue jeans and Hermione stared at casual Draco for the first time. Harry shook hands with Draco and said "Now that he's coming you have to come." Ginny pulled Hermione into her room and went into her walk in closet. She pulled out this gray t-shirt dress she had gotten Hermione over a year ago but she had never worn it because she was uncomfortable with how it stopped at her mid thigh. "Ginny I can't just wear that dress it is way to short." Hermione said trying to knock some sense into her best friend. Ginny looked around her closet and said "Of course you can't wear just this... here take this scarf to go with it." Ginny pulled out the thinnest red scarf in her closet as an excuse for Hermione to "cover up". Hermione reluctantly dressed to her friend's will and put on some white sandals and walked out of her room. Harry told Hermione that she looked cute whereas Draco stared at the brunette's legs in awe. He quickly changed his smile into a smirk as he said "Only couples match Granger..." Hermione looked at Ginny who pulled off a classic Draco smirk and high fived her husband. Ginny then put her hands on Hermione's shoulders and said "Today at the brunch dodge any relationship questions about you and Draco to leave my idiot brother in confusion. Also that idiot Lavender is coming so don't let the won won's get to you. And if ANYONE questions why you're here I'm going to jump into gigantic rant about how you are the sister I never got and how you are more family to me than Ron ever has been." Hermione hugged Ginny and shed a tear, but quickly wiped it off as she had to be strong today in front of Ron." Ginny and Harry went ahead and apparated leaving only Draco and Hermione in her apartment. He came up to her and looked into her chocolate brown eyes and said "I've got your back". He hugged her and put his lips on her ear and said "hold on tight". She opened her eyes and felt Draco's breath on the nape of her neck. As they separated from their hugging position Draco grabbed Hermione's hand tightly and they both looked at the Weasley house with no idea what they were getting into. Hermione and Draco entered in the door and stood side by side. Mrs. Weasley came in and hugged Hermione with a tight squeeze and whispered "You are always in my family dear." She then looked at Draco with sadness in her eyes. She then said with a quiet voice " You were born into a tough life honey, and with your father in jail and mother ill at St.Mungos Draco you are welcome to this house anytime. As long as you make my second daughter happy." She said while smiling at Hermione. She then smiled at the two of them with tears in her eyes and then she lead Draco to where the rest of her boys were sitting eagerly at the table while Hermione went into the kitchen to help Ginny out with the plates. They all sat around the table and were just about to dig in when Ron came in with a Lavender in a bright purple mini dress. Hermione looked down and giggled she thought that she was inappropriately dressed but when she heard Mr. and Mrs. Weasley groan a little Hermione's day was made. However that didn't last very long as Ron burst with anger when he saw Draco. "I thought Death Eaters were resting in jail not in the house that they insulted so much." Ron yelled "Ronald Weasley sit down." Mrs.Weasley yelled. Ron and his new girlfriend were quiet while everyone listened to Draco's story of how whenever he apparates to Hermione's apartment she's always embarrassingly dancing or singing. Everyone was laughing and Hermione punched his arm and told him to stop but you could she was actually enjoying herself. Then Fred picked up the newspaper and said "Wow Mione you look fabulous." He then handed the paper to Draco who read "Everyone's favorite bad boy and the brains of the golden trio were spotted at Maria's Moonlight holding hands and smiling at each other. While we are waiting for statements from the leggy brunette and the beautiful blonde, if these two are a couple they would be the hottest one out there. They definitely beat the strange couple composed of small time actress Lavender..... and Granger's ex Ron Weasley" Draco trailed off with that last part as he stared at Lavender's face turn the same color as her dress. He put down the paper and stared at his plate sheepishly. Hermione grabbed his hand under the table and he stroked her hand with his thumb trying to calm her down. Lavender's voice raise as she started to yell " SMALL TIME ACTRESS.... HOTTER THAN THE STRANGE COUPLE..?!" "Lavender calm down I'm sure some idiot just wrote it as a joke." Hermione said trying to comfort the girl who clearly disliked her. "You.. I'm so done with you. You get fame for absolutely nothing and you hurt my won won's heart." Draco this time stood up to get a word in "Hermione broke his heart?! He broke hers when he went and kissed you. Hermione couldn't hurt a fly, and she's the most amazing person I know. She's brilliant and beautiful and she doesn't use the GOD DAMN INFANTILE VOICE. But most of all Hermione Granger knows how to forgive and forget. For it takes a lot of guts to come back and try to be pleasant with the people who hurt you which Ron and I both did to Hermione." When Harry smiled and Mr.Weasley patted Draco on the back that is when Ron lost it. "Get out of my house Malfoy, nobody asked for a death eater ." Ron said while pulling his wand out. Hermione pulled her wand out and everyone in the room tried to get Ron to put down his wand as nobody expected Ron to win against the brightest witch of their age. When Ron was about to mutter a hex Hermione disarmed him. It took less than 5 seconds for Lavender's protective instincts to kick in as hot tea came flying at Hermione and came all over her dress and burned on her skin. Hermione pulled Draco and walked out of the house and they apparated back to Hermione's apartment. She sat down on her white leather couch and started to cry. Draco came and sat down next her. He wiped the tear off her face and came close to her until their lips were a mere centimeter apart. Hermione stared at his kissable lips and just as she was about to move in closer she winced. She looked down and saw that Draco was trying to keep her attention only so he would have enough time to perform a healing spell on the burned skin on her arm. When her arm was healed Draco said "You should probably take a shower and take off that dress. We can talk more when you come out of the shower. She nodded her head and went to her bathroom in silence. Draco walked around her house and decided this was as good a time as any other to take a look at Hermione's photo wall. He saw her smiling in almost all of these. Each picture had either Harry, Ginny, or her parents. But Draco lit up the most when he saw a picture of him and her drinking butter beer together on that wall. He realized how much she cared about him and it brought a big smile to his face.

At the Weasley house Ginny stood up enraged with Lavender who was staring at the ground crying. Ginny drained out the puddle of tea that had formed in her shoe and she walked off until you could see from a distance that she had apparated away.
