A Swim Club?

-Emiko's P.O.V-

I held my breath as I soured through the water like a bird does through the clouds. I let the water take over my body as I stroked. With my whole body submerged, I turned my head to see no one. Just water. As the end of the pool came into sight, I turned and pushed off it with my feet. I sped through the cold water as I raced to the other side. When I got to the other wall of the pool, my head suddenly popped up as I gasped for air.

"HOW FAST?!" I yelled up to Nagisa, who was timing me.

"9.46!" The blonde shouted. I smiled widely and fell backwards.

"NEW RECORD!" I shouted, raising my hands into the air as I floated on the surface. I stared up into the sky as the sun shinned.

"Bet I can beat it." A high pitched voice said from the side of the pool. I turned and moved my arms to stay surfaced. I blushed slightly, then smirked at the sight of Rin taking his shirt off.

"TRY ME!" I yelled, placing my hands on solid ground as I pulled myself out of the water and adjusted my goggles. I ran to get lined up on the diving board as Rin finished getting ready. Once he lined up, we both pulled the rubber strap on our goggles. I took a deep breath, "Lets do this...." I whispered.

"GO!" Nagisa shouted. Both Rin and I pushed off of the board at the same time and dove into the pool. I immediately started stroking and kicking my feet really fast, but he was faster. Before any of us could even blink, it was over. I was in the middle of the last lap, when he slapped the wall at the end of the pool. I finished the lap and raised my head from the water. I looked to Nagisa hopefully, but he just smiled sheepishly, "Rin, 8.57! Emiko," My eyebrows raised as I waited in anticipation, "10.34." My hopeful look faded as Rin pulled himself up and out of the pool.

"Better luck next time." He said while smiling. He placed a hand in front of me, as if to help me get out. But I ignored him and pulled myself up. I huffed and grabbed my towel, angrily stomping out.

My eyes burst open as the memory replayed through my head. I glared at the end of the pool and stroked faster. I have to beat his damn time. When I see him again, he's totally in for it. The wall came fast, so I raised my hand and slapped it as fast as I could. My head popped out of the water as I stared at Nagisa. He gave me a sympathetic look, and I rolled my eyes, getting out of the pool. I walked up to the board and lined myself up for the sixteenth time today. I was about to dive, when a hand on my shoulder stopped me.

"Maybe it's time to take a break. Get some coffee?" Makoto suggested sheepishly. I glanced back at him and smiled weakly as I slumped into his arms. He chuckled and pulled me into the locker room, "Knew you were tired."

"You always do." I smirked as I used my towel to dry off. I pulled an oversized shirt over my head and some reveling shorts. I took my goggles and swim cap off, stuffing them in my bag. I sighed as I slung it over my shoulder and let my long dark brown hair hang low. I shook my head and ran out of the locker room, "HEY HARUKA!" I yelled from across the pool. He was swimming too. His head resurfaced and I smiled while waving frantically, "COFFEE?" He thought for a moment, then nodded and got out. I smiled at the thought of the four of us enjoying some coffee like we used too.

"Hey Emiko...." Nagisa started, "Sorry you didn't make the time, you'll get there though!" He reassured. I just smiled the best I could and laughed nervously.

"Yeah.... I don't really care about that anyways...." Covering up my need to beat Rin was almost impossible. All three boys gave me a look, so I stuck my tongue out at them, "Well whatever. When we're done, you guys wanna come over?" I asked.

"Can't." Makoto said, packing his things, "My parents want to have a family diner." He complained, rolling his eyes. I just laughed.

"Okay okay, anyone else?" I turned to look at the other two.

"Sorry. I've got lots of homework." Nagisa said. I frowned and glanced at Haruka. I groaned and turned towards him with a thick blush.

"...You...?" I said, not looking at him. I bit the inside of my cheek as I glared at Makoto and Nagisa. They're always annoying me about Haruka.

"Sure." Haru said while shrugging, making me smile. 

-Time Skip-

As the four of us sat in the coffee shop, talking and enjoying ourselves, I played with my hair, noticing how long it was.

"Maybe it's time for a trim...." I whispered. I felt a sharp pain in my head and squealed. I grabbed my head and turned to see Haruka tugging at my hair. My face lit up like a Christmas tree as he looked at me, "W-WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" I yelled, snatching my hair from him. I heard uncontrollable giggles come from the other side of the table, "SHUT UP!" I shouted at the laughing idiots. When they didn't stop, I just crossed my arms and lifted my chin to the air, "Whatever...."

"So Emiko," Makoto started after he finished laughing, "What's with all the extra practice lately? Is there someone you need to show up or something?" He asked. I bit the inside of my cheek and took a sip of coffee.

"Well.... Uh...." I was about to make up some lame excuse, before someone stepped it to save me.

"She plans on challenging me soon." Haru said while shrugging. I sighed in relief and slumped down in the booth. Haruka's the only one who really understands my feud with Rin, since he's in one himself, even if he doesn't want to admit it. The last time I raced Rin, pretty sure I cried my eyes out to Haru afterwards. A lots changed since that day though. But I'll go into that some other time.

"But what's up with your time? You're so determined to beat it!" Nagisa exclaimed. Come on brain! Think!

"That was Haruka's best time when racing me!" I said loudly, "I just.... I wanna beat it." This had nothing to do with Harkua, but he was the best excuse. Sorry Haru!

"Didn't I tell you to stop calling me that?" Haru said, making me giggle at his expression.

"Oh you know you love me!" I smiled up at him. He only grunted and looked out the window, "Anyways, the reason I swim so much is none of your business." I said to Nagisa and Makoto. The brunette put his hands put in defense, where as Nagisa just laughed at my attempt to keep my life privet. 

"I JUST HAD THE BEST IDEA!" Nagisa just about screamed, making me jump.

"DON'T YELL! IT SCARES PEOPLE!" I screamed back.

"Whatever! Just listen! What if us four started a swim club!" The hyper teen shook with excitement. Oh....
